sekihiryu 51 Posted March 7, 2007 (edited) Kaio was there and looking pretty mediocre, gotta go to work now but watch this space for more reports, lots of photos and some videos. Ok, so I cruised into the city to see Sadogatake beya in the 'construction site office' style shack they have with about 6 million other people, luckily I am a lot taller than the average Ojisan so can always get a decent view! Got there a little late and Kaio and Osh were going at it, Kotoshogiku was trying get as much game time as possible and Kotomitsuki hardly featured, must have been his day to chill out. As Kinta has mentioned in the Osh preparations thread, he got a tidy 20-3 over mostly Kaio and Shogi but it wasnt convincing stuff, it was mostly half throttle going through the motions stuff, I am guessing the Kaio doesnt go hard out these days mainly to save himserlf for the best possible condition for the basho. Shogi just couldnt get a rythym going despite half throttle bouts, Osh on the other hand, looks a lot beefier since I saw him last year and seemed to have a confidence about him that has been missing from alot of his sumo in the past year or so, a revival of the Bulgarian perhaps. Most of the bouts were Yorikiri affairs from everyone though Kaio threw a couple of great nages that caught both Shogi and Osh off guard when he did them. After the bouts and some pretty pathetic butsukari geiko, the lower rankers didnt so group shiko while the big boys chatted and laughed away at the back of the Keikoba. There wasnt much intensity at all today from what I saw. Must have been light trainining day! one looked happy to do the obligatory photos the other didnt a big set of legs! odd stretching!
