True story: I've discussed the meaning of "For God's sake" with English learners from Japan who couldn't understand why we would write about a diety's liquor...

"She is kind and gentle and she'll take good care of me. I want 5 kids!", added Baruto."Now that he has someone to look after him, I'd like him to aim one step upwards", said Onoe Oyakata.

crikey that is one long neck, but good looking girl nonetheless, reminds of the landlords daughter in the spiderman movies.

Interesting he ended up with a Russian, I thought Estonians werent too keen on Russians, all things considering.

How well has this news gone down in Estonia? any Estonian member care to share?

At least leading Estonian newspaper "Postimees" has quite positeve story about the marriage. One third of Estonian population is Russian speaking and marriage between native Estonian and Russian speakers is not uncommon.

Anyway Russia definately has quite few beautiful girls and Baruto has made a good choise. Hopefully he can keep his promise to be Ozaki soon and Yokozuna when first baby born (In a state of confusion...)

I doubt that there are that many Estonian girls available in Tokyo, and with a Russian he can probably relate much easier than with Japanese.

They make a very good couple! She's lovely & they get along well. Baruto's Russian is quite good and he loves Russian food as we always eat at Russian restaurants together. I've had the chance to eat with her on a few occasions & though she is quiet she is very nice and gets along very well with Baruto's Estonian friend as well!

Good Luck to them!!

And don't forget, all foreigners are "the same" in Japan - outsiders. gaijin.

I lived in a "gaijin house" - foreigner hostel and really, we all had the same problems. People from India, Uzbekistan, Germany, The USA, China, Canada, France, Philippines, Mongolia etc. And I made some great friends from very different origins. It was so easy. I never thought it could be so easy and so nice. I am a little shy in real life and take a little long to trust people, but those I lived with, I called friend very quickly.

It's so easy because all gaijin have at least one topic - being gaijin to the Japanese - and that makes it easy to start a conversation. Functions in the same way with flirting I guess. ;-)

"Ey, you are blond like me! How comes?..."

(Sigh...)
