Kensho Standings (Natsu 2010)

Disclaimer: I translate this information from the Nikkan Sports Webpage. It should not be considered official. Nikkan is known to make mistakes in their kensho counts from time to time, but they usually get around to correcting them. Also, Nikkan only posts the top 10 everyday, so I have no idea how many kensho someone not on that list has.

Kaio got his 4th slapdown win of the tournament, this one against Kisenosato, to collect 9 envelopes. After Day 6...

Rikishi # Yen
Hakuho 121 6,655,000
Baruto 36 1,980,000
Kaio 29 1,595,000

Kotooshu 18 990,000
Kisenosato 10 550,000
Tochinoshin	10 550,000
Harumafuji 8 440,000
Shimotori 8 440,000

Not having another Yokozuna to share the musubi-no-ichiban with has benefited Hakuho greatly in kensho terms as he continues along in cruise control, forcing out the winless Wakanosato to earn another 15 envelopes.

Baruto slapped down Aminishiki to keep pace with the Yokozuna in the win column and pick up 6 kensho for himself.

The last two days have been costly for Kaio, not just in terms of wins and losses, but in a monetary sense as well. The Ozeki has seen 16 envelopes go to his opponents over that time. Yesterday he fell to defeat against Tochinoshin, losing out on 7 kensho. Today Kotoshogiku forced the Ozeki out to earn the 9 kensho placed on the bout.

Takamisakari picked up his 4th victory of the tournament, earning 6 envelopes from a yorikiri win over Tamanoshima.

Lastly, Kisenosato and Harumafuji picked up 2 kensho each from wins over Tochiozan and Miyabiyama respectively.
