Latest set of urakata promotions decided
Itachiyama replied to Yubinhaad's topic in Ozumo Discussions
he died some years ago (suicide). Sorry, the one on the left should be Shigetarou (Kokonoe), the one on the right Satoru. The one who died was Shintarou (Minatou-beya). Shigetarou and Shintarou have been looking similar (as their Shikona). -

Well, Sumo has been Wakanosato's life through and through. And it will be from now on as an Oyakata. He loved Sumo, he was proud to be a Sumotori and to him, there was a Sumodou, he always asked himself what a Sumotori is supposted to do! He would never have quit as long staying Sekitori.

Hakuho finished his 9th Nagoya Basho against Maegashira opponents and is still without a loss here!!! The streak is at 59 now. The overall record against Maegashira is: 326:9 (ΓΈ 36,22).

With his win on day 3 Hakuho tied Taiho regarding wins as Yokozuna (622). Until Nakabi, he will certainly pass Chiyonofuji's 625. Remains still Kitanoumi with 670, but the gap of 48 wins will fall this year also if Hakuho will not get seriously injured.

Can't remember the last time when Hakuho was not on the #1 spot. For sure exactly 3 year ago when he lost his last but on Shonichi!
