While the guy who posted the video does make his own comments, when he's not speaking you can hear the English commentary from the channel. The commentary I was referring to was definitely the English commentary. Right you are. Think he was meaning Taiho just got his numbers wrong.
-
This is some guy doing his own blog. Not the official English commentary

Cant listen atm. Who were the announcers? No tv in those days.

He had some phlegmon inflammation on his leg (with fever), the same Dejima had (I just heard that somewhere and have no definite source for it). Kakuryu suffered from an infection in his left shin in December and that's why he was absent at soken. Had a body temperature of over 40 degrees for a few days because of cellulitis(Hoka-shikien). He says he wasn't able to do any keiko, but did work out with weights a lot.

Rikishi Status Hatsu 2015 - No news Day 15
specialweek 2 replied to Fukurou's topic in Honbasho Talk
Interested in knowing what Chiyootori's problem is. -
23 times straight for Hakuho to beat a first time opponent.
-
a and d are used for the record, but the triangle for the hoshitori. In the link below you can see both the records and the hoshitori for the last draw (hikiwake in 1974, look for M6e and M10w: http://sumodb.sumogames.de/Banzuke.aspx?b=197409&heya=-1&shusshin=-1&ho=on The one I was looking up was Ryogoku and Kantamago the last shinnyumaku to win a Yusho.
-
The triangle stands for a draw. There are various "kimarite" for draws, like azukari (too close to call), hikiwake (bout took so long that rikishi were exhausted), and itamiwake (rikishi got injured during the bout).Edit: there is a fourth type of draw (mushoubu). It's significance is so shrouded in mystery that it's not even listed in the forum glossary. Does anybody actually has an idea when and why mushoubu was called? I always thought the little a and little d referred to a draw.
-
This might not be the right place to post but what does the small triangle refer to when both rikishi have it in the result against each other 100 years ago?

When and/or if was the last Yokozuna vs Shinnyumaku bout?
-
Not down but shaky.
-
They might be arranging for Hakuho v Ichinojo on day 13.
-
Any date been announced now that he has made it?
-
Really? Might be last basho you are seeing.
-
Does that also apply to a 13-2 Jun-yusho, a 13-2 Yusho with an 8-7 record in the middle of those two 13-2 records? (Akebono)Kisenosato was also promoted with the same amount of 32 wins over a three tournament span. And not a fan of Kise promotion either. Just because they promote doesnt mean I like it.
-
Nice to see a mediocre 8-7 be rewarded with Ozeki promotion. Opinions varied on this but doesn't sit right to me.
-
The Platter's classic hit song comes to mind as I watch Endo.

The figures are the total numbers of kenshos recieved in the tournament so far. Hakuho remained at 204 after the day 11 bout and Goeido went from 16 kensho on day 10 to up to total of 30 kensho after day 11. So Goeido added the 14 kensho for this bout to his prize money. Seems to be perfectly fine. Edit: BTW, good to know that some people are actually reading this... ;-) Appreciate your efforts.

Doesn't the chart show Goeido jumped by 14 and Hakuho stayed the same?

Full house day 11

Probably will happen more with three Yokozuna. Tochiozan will be in musubi no 3 days in a row as well. Of course at least three yokozuna are practically a requirement for this to happen. But there were loads of times with three or more yokozuna in the past without this to happen, so this suggests a change in torikumi making. Given that pretty much any joi-jin from sekiwake to M4 can be the yokozuna opponent in the musubi-no-ichiban, there can be rough estimate of 10% likelihood for the same rikishi to appear on consecutive days, and 1% for three days in a row. Ok, the first week concentrates on Komusubi to M2, the second week has more sekiwake and M3, but still it is a long shot with "random" torikumi making. Yes you are correct. As you know the torikumi panel changes so perhaps the new group are just looking for something different. Speculation on my part.

Via Hikiotoshi? You mean he pulled to then win by some other means? -
Think the injury might be a bit lower than the shoulder. ;-)
