    UDH Nagoya Basho 2015

Taking idiocy to new heights... In the past I did upload results and forget to mention it here. Today I have done it vice versa: report - but no upload. The results are online now.

Ah... you're right there. Completely forgot the admin stuff after the basho. Had other "things" to administer :-) For superbanzuke and other purposes, here's the official Nagoya banzuke in text form. I'll have to see when I get to upload it to the site. (snip) For better readability removed from here. It's on the website now.

Another most beautiful thing in the world

..., or: The newest member of Wanzanbaku-beya Hello all, I find it quite fitting to use the same thread title as I did use three years ago as it is the same wonder again that has happened to us. And since I have been in this forum for so long (it remains the only one I have stuck with) I want to share my joy with you. Last week my second child was born, this time a boy! His big sister is very proud, and so are his parents :-)

    UDH Natsu Basho 2015

Hello gamers, the UDH entry form is ready now and waiting for your selections. Rules in a (very small) nutshell: Guess the thirteen makuuchi rikishi you expect to have the fewest wins this basho. You may submit your entry at http://udh.seisa.de/udh_index.html. Once you have selected your team, please root for them as much as you can. The game was not intended to honor any failure, but to stimulate interest in the less successful rikishi. The deadline for your entries will be the first day of the basho (Sunday, May 10th) at 12pm Japanese Time. Good luck! Link to the latest available standings >>> http://udh.seisa.de/udh_stand.html

    The Gyoji

Yes, it does. Just some decades ago child labour was pretty common. And you have to remember that it probably wasn't seen as child labour at all but more or less a cheap way to feed the kid. (Well, in exchange for "some" gyoji duties.) Often enough have sons been sent to Ozumo as the family was too poor to feed them.

    UDH Haru Basho 2015

Yep, server time is my local time (CET/CEST). The time in the mail header is your local time. I guess I have to finally sit down and program a hard close of the entry form, too. As for the deadline -- surely it makes lucky punches possible but UDH has ever been a game where the lucky punching rate is quite high... I have been seeing it as one of the games where you can get early success and are encouraged to stay with the other ones, too. Btw, the day 5 results have been uppoaded yesterday already but I'm on a mobile only and the "copy and paste" works only as "copy" right now, so I can post a proper link...

    UDH Haru Basho 2015

Funnily enough Kaiomitsuki's pick was (11:49 JST). But Gonzaburow's late entry was set back to the one before deadline, so it's one Kakuryu. The strict deadline also caused three players to take a pause this time as they have been after 12:00. The the number of participants is reduced to 69. The situation seems indeed like advantage for some and bad luck for others but we're talking about a very narrow window of two, three hours here. Back in time I once tried to figure out how probably an injury on any given day was (trying to eliminate the alternates as well). The warmup on the first basho day was among the least probable: high intensity, yes, but very low fierceness. (Get the guy warmed up but not into hospital.) So that advantage might come up every 15 or 20 years. That's an acceptable value, methinks.
