Re: Unusual number of new players. There are 10 new players this time. Not that I would be not happy about it, but the number is really outstanding. Apart from many having a rather generic gmail or hotmail address there doesn't seem to be any fishy about. However, I will dig a bit further into the patterns. For the moment all 10 are listed.

Googlemail and others bounced the confirmation mails because the message header was missing a valid messageid that would tell the receiving server that the mail is legit. Some others did accept it but marked it outright as junk. (Solution for game hosts if you have the same problem: you need to set an SPF record in your domain settings.)

The game was not intended to honor any failure, but to stimulate interest in the less successful rikishi.
