This basho is absolutely MENTAL. Some guys really put up their best to keep us entertained. Huge TV audience in perspective for NHK and UBS. That's were you find yourself hoping that no earthquake will strike Japan. So what's tomorrow's menu?

The day Aminishiki will retire, I can see the Doctor materializing in front of him and say " The clock has stopped. You're relieved, soldier". Then "Mummynishiki" will disintegrate into a pile of dust and old bandages. ( S08E08)

So, that's it, this basho is Goeido's... ;-)

I like some of the crowd's reaction EPIC :-D

I think that the picture of Toyonoshima's ballet move and Ama flying in the crowd would make an amazing sumo poster ( or at least a funny gif)...

TOCHINOSHIN gave Ama a good lesson indeed: it is risky to rely on one winning technique. Tokitenkuu gave up his signature kicks and even Oosu seemed to have moved on from his kachi-age. Kisenosato saved his honour against Terunofuji. But I am quite confident with the fact that the youngster will put one of his fellow ozeki down in the next couple of days.

I am happy to post my first comment on a very exciting sumo day (hello world !). There might not be any serious contender to challenge Hakuho for the moment but there are a couple of youngsters there who are battling hard for the lower sanyaku ranks. It is quite likely that we will see another new ozeki before Kisenosato gets his first yuusho (if he ever gets any).
