But in that case the higher ranked rikishi got picked ahead of the better score. Now it's the other way around. Aoiyama has more sanyaku experience than Tamawashi and constantly had the higher ranking for the last couple of years. Does popularity affect the choice of the sanyaku spots?

Tamawashi in the second komusubi spot instead of Aoiyama. Is that logical?
