    Haru 2022 Discussion Thread (SPOILERS!)

Wakatakakage fully deserved the yusho. Despite having a great basho, Takayasu squandered his opportunities to take the yusho. There is no controversy here. I just hope Takayasu continues with a good form going forward.

I don't think any Makuuchi riksihi are shaking in their boots. I've watched ozumo long enough to know people tend to overestimate up-and-coming prospects, especially, if they have the size.

Waka took the win . Luck had nothing to do with it.

This is a page out of a Rocky movie - an upstart vs has been. Come on, Taka. Show waka what taka can do.

    Haru 2022 Discussion Thread (SPOILERS!)

I sincerely apologize to Shodai for thinking he will lose his Ozeki rank for sure after his 0-4 start (then 1-5). Come on, who among you thought he'd go 9-6?

... and Taka better take it. It could be now or never for him.

    Haru 2022 Discussion Thread (SPOILERS!)

Like I said, it isn't over until Waka beats Shodai which didn't happen. The tension builds even more. Go, Taka!

A job well done, indeed. But I wanted him to take the yusho to start a Yoko run.

That kid is still only 22 years old. And it has been a steady climb so far. I like his chances at greater things.

That was more like a slow waltz, Tobi leading all the way.

How about that! Shodai completes an amazing turnaround. I've not seen that happen. I am not a fan of Shodai but he earned my respect. And Mitakeumi's disappearing act in 2nd half of a basho happens again.

Takakeisho will beat Takayasu today. Well, almost. It is now Takayasu's basho.

My guess was that they are the Japanese chapter of the Illuminati. They look good in their robes though.

Maybe a coincidence or not. Both Waka brothers have now gone KK for the 4th straight basho.

Ishiura's return from kyujo isn't working out. He's doing more running around than anything else. Ura should have an easy time with Ishiura tomorrow.

Stiffer competition may have a say in it, too. But I think for a Sanyuku debut, he's doing Okay.

LOL! That look Meisei gave after he "lost" Ura in the ring was so funny. If you missed it, make sure to see it, folks. It's a blast.

It's now two guys I like to take the yusho at the top - Takayasu, and Wakatakakage.
