Promotion/Demotion and Yusho discussion Kyushu 2019

I am glad for him that he won senshuraku, can you for sure say that he will be able to stay in Juryo, even if he drops to the lowest rank? It looks like there is going to be a lot of movement in the ranks around him.

    Hatsu Basho 2019 Discussion [SPOILERS]

I remember him being like this before, I think it was right after or during an injury.. he was fighting very similar to this... not yokozuna like and even resorting to an henka in one of the last bouts. Might it be another injury?

    Hatsu Basho 2019 Discussion [SPOILERS]

I would love that, but he seems to have a hard time getting started (awake) sometimes... I fear its more likely someone else gets it earlier than him, if ever (I hope I am wrong).

Yes, I love the fact he couldn't hide himself smiling like a child afterwards.

    Hatsu Basho 2019 Discussion [SPOILERS]

Sure, but he tries to ignore this and power through like he did in the past and that I don't understand because some of his most exciting bouts when he became a yokozune where more evasive in nature. Now that he isn't 100% he resorts to plain power?

    Hatsu Basho 2019 Discussion [SPOILERS]

At this point I believe its all in his head, because he has the tools but isn't using them..

    Aki Basho 2018 Discussion [SPOILERS]

Yes I couldn't agree more, I too come to like Kise's efforts more and more, and i would hate to see another yokozuna to retire this soon. Although you could argue many of his bouts aren't won in a yokozuna way, they are really entertaining and thats worth a lot to me.

    Aki Basho 2018 Discussion [SPOILERS]

I am not a Mita fan but why did he attempt such a sloppy henka, I thought he had better chances straight on... : (

How good are the chances for a Tochinoshin ozeki promotion if he wins this, and has a jun yusho (double digit wins) next time? Is there any talk? Or does he need to be sekiwake allready?

I am also saying 2 zensho but not in a row. 69 wins and 22 consecutive

    Basho Talk Kyushu 2017 (SPOILERS)

I remember when he first showed up in the upper division thinking that he will be a ozeki in no time... I really hope he gets back there.

    Basho Talk Kyushu 2017 (SPOILERS)

he seems a little small tho, but i would like to see him as a yokozuna one day. A threat to Hakuho seems a bit unrealistic tho.
