I counted 3 occasions where the bout was wrongly called, or it should have been matta, during the basho. Beginning with the Abi-Hoshoryu bout. Its a shame when a bout is 'taken away' from a rikishi, especially if it impacts the yusho race. There should be repercussions on the shimpan + the gyoji for not noticing a 'mistake'.

Could Onokatsu get something if he wins?

Luck is with Hoshoryu --- and it can be a big asset for someone fixated on winning the basho (which he mentioned a number of times during the runup). Incomprehensible what happened to Mitakeumi. Kirishima really tried today, but did he sprain his ankle in the process?

Anyone any idea what's troubling Kirishima? Is he still injured? Did he loose his mojo? Or is 0:5 purely luck abandoning him?

An enormous loss of face for Hakkaku and the banzuke-producers. I had the feeling watching Hoshoryu's expression that when he saw what was brewing he went along and lost for the effect.

Takayasu will be sekiwake in the Hatsu basho --- with the option to return to ozeki with 10 win or more, right? ---will we lose him from the ozeki rank?

What is known about the health of those returning from injury? Did any of the 'supposedly healthy ones' collect an injury of late?
