El Buen Rikishi

This is veery nice Akinomaki, I was trying to read as much as I can before this year zennihon championships and I came across this post. But I have questions, Who is the entity responsible for these decisions (to award someone with a specific 'dan' degree)? How do they check how much time have you been practising sumo? (I guess they only count the years practising sumo in Japan, like, do they count the years a mongolian student has been doing sumo in order to accept or not an application) Thanks a lot as always for your posts!

I would keep an eye on Dawaaninji... This kid has flown a little bit under the radar but this year his sumo looks very very solid. It will be very exciting to follow him next year. Thank you for the posts!!
