If I remember correctly, they calculate expected wins for a certain rikishi as the number of wins they actually have plus half of the days left in the basho (as if each rikishi would win half the bouts they have left). That way is more accurate than the raw method in the actual standings of the Oracle Game, where it calculates the results as if the basho had ended that same day. And that also explains the half points Rando gives in the adjusted Oracle standings that will never appear in the final leaderboard. I assume when a guy goes kyujo, the calculation stops at his actual number of wins as he's not expected to come back. With this basho shenanigans in that regard, the calculations deviate more on a daily basis.

Next time just... Now he won't be able to lose the jun-yusho by clumsily slipping and losing by hikiotoshi on senshuraku against Ichiyamamoto.
-
It'd be Oskanohana as I would have overcome all the hurdles and finally deserved the honor of taking my ancestor's name and leave behind my Hanada given name...wait, no, that's not me, that's not even my given name, that's the two fellas...the rockstars from the 90's...Wakatakamoto or something... BTW, I can perfectly see what you're trying to do, you're just trying to jinx it, but as Hakuho is my witness, I'll never trust Kagayaki again.

BTW, I'm accessing the game just fine, I'm no wizard or anything...

I thought this was a really good joke, but it's actually a fair request given the circumstances. The winner actually picked Takayasu. I raise my hand in disapproval but also I'm not a referee anyway...

Shhhh......shut up!!!. Of course we were holding. Didn't you get the memo? Now it's another jun-yusho...bah!

Well, my smarter-than-thou picks of Oho and Nishikifuji are saddling me in the pre-basho games and in Bench and I'm not doing fine in daily in general, except for my SumoGame performance which is being average at best but I'm having luck with my opponents. And my odd "gamble" was a sure fire bet, mind you mister Rando, just as the previous ones were, ehem. So the door was open but no one seems to be coming in. Winning by mediocrity is fine with me. Of course, I won't leave the fans of my art hanging. Here you go.

That's bad...(for my economy) I can offer you a frogurt and you can get your choice of topping.

Oscar: Who are you, who are so wise in the ways of science? Ganzo: I'm Ganzo, King of the Visigoths Oscar: My liege! You are in fact right, I just looked at the wrong column, I suppose. Susanoo-Biden should be getting half a point less, further proof that last worlds was stolen by a far east conspiracy.

......... - Oscar: That's bad - Ganzo: But....you are winning points - Oscar: That's good - Ganzo: Susanoo is also winning points - Oscar: That's bad - Ganzo: I'm 8th/11th and scored no points on Rando's official standings - Oscar: ...... - Ganzo: That's bad. - Oscar: Can I go now?

I'm very happy to have won my second green mawashi this year for a total of....(let me recap my whole career for a minute)....ah, yes, 2. I was leading in 6 games on day 10 (though the Oracle "lead" is unreal by that stage). I managed to pull through in 3 of them at least. Not thanks to Kagayaki , mind you, who, after costing me the world champ last year by stupidly losing on Kyushu senshuraku, took the TTT yusho away from me by winning stupidly on senshuraku this time. Good news is the muppet will be in juryo next basho, so there are some games where he can't bug me at least. The good part of my choking was that although I lost on Quad on senshuraku, my ability to not pick Atamifuji at all on the basho gave me the yusho (really love the game, very proud of it) Also, I finished 2nd on MCP on Bench (by choking on senshuraku, yes) and managed a measly 9-6 after finally being on MU. Meanwhile Panda-zuna gets 12-3 yusho because opponents roll over at his mere sight, but maybe I cannot complain seeing Golynohana (3rd on MCP) going 6-9 somewhat near me on the banzuke. Also also, I was top scorer in SG and got the yusho but somehow I didn't get my 15 points. Somebody might claim I won it in juryo, but that's clearly an excuse to rob me of my hard earned points. Just hoping I can get to MU for Kyushu, it's gonna be really close. Still, as I was a big fan of Kisenosato (until I wasn't) and I'm also pretty keen on Takayasu (though also that keenness is fading), I don't believe you can expect another choke from me at the finish line after being inspired by such paragons of clutchness. So, all in all, great basho for me. Looking forward to certify my 2nd world championship in a row, (because everyone knows the last one was rigged because Rando didn't stop the count and I had the best picks and there were people putting picks on the mail and they were dropping bags of picks with vans and there were a bunch of players who didn't bring their best picks, but I assume some of them are good people). See y'all in Kyushu.

Gimme that rope!

Finally I got that simian off my posterior. And I only needed a decade for that, ffs. I didn't think I had a shot at it since I expected Mitakeumi to have the type of bounce back basho that Shodai actually did have. At least now I'm juryo in the H2H games, so next year I might be able to score some points there with a bit of luck. Again, thanks for running the games, and congratulations to all the players, because the real reward is the journeys that we made along the friends or something like that.

Sumo Gaming World Championship Daily Scoring
Oskanohana replied to Randomitsuki's topic in Sumo Games
First of all, congratulations to Susanoo for being the world champion (barring a bug in The Random One's almighty algorithms, one can only hope) It was a pleasure reading Rando's comments every day. In the end I was the first of the ones who lost. Instead of Miyabikeumi, I ought to rename to Kisenoyasu. I don't think I even have a green mawashi ffs. I could blame myself for not trusting Abi pre-basho, or thinking that Takanosho would bounce back, or thinking that Wakatakakage is indeed ozeki material (if only by the crappiness of the other "contenders"). I could blame the Bench Sumo Banzuke Making Commitee for dropping me to J1e this basho. I could blame Rando himself for not stopping the count when he should have or for spoiling the beans on my tactic of going for a big Odd Sumo play. But I won't, I'll be the bigger man.... ....and blame Kagayaki, that muppet (as some former SG world champ would say). Results details for Oskahanada in Kyushu Basho 2022, Day 15 Rikishi Quota Kagayaki 1.49 Nishikigi 1.68 Wakamotoharu 1.23 Abi 1.58 Hoshoryu 1.31 Hokutofuji 2.52 bet number: 78066 total quota: 48.18 ante: 3 points won: -3 It was a fun competition. Thanks as always to everybody running the games and to the Doitsu-base, who has to get a lot of credit for my performance. I sincerely don't know of any other web of sporting results that is even remotely close to being that thorough, organized, user friendly and well kept. See you all next year. -
I didn't receive any confirmation e-mail for this basho, so I've sent my line-up also via e-mail and a private message on this forum to @Tamanaogijima with it. Go team suspension mid-basho!!!
-
Anybody else hasn't received confirmation e-mail from UDH? I remember that months ago I found it on the spam folder and I removed it as spam, but now I got nothing. I've sent an e-mail to gyoji@seisa.de with my line-up just in case, but it just seems weird.

Funny thing is that if I hadn't won the yusho I'd probably be again in a paradox again, being an ozeki and not at the same time because of the low scores all around. Miyabikeumi's legend was stopped short probably because I forgot to change my name. Anyways, I'm very happy I won. Thanks to all responsible for running the game.
-
I've said a million times before and I'm not exaggerating. You must stop the count!!!. I have the best picks, I picked this Tamawashi fellow very high in UDH and they gave me no points even though he won the yusho. They're just trying to delay. I'm the undisputed world champion for this year, and I will be for the next years too. You know, these Germans, they don't send us their best people to count the points. They didn't even add my points for winning the makushita game yusho. They're inventing this Kyushu basho thing now when everything should have ended in Natsu because that's where I handed the President Cup. Everything is wrong and I have wonnered the world championship already and only the bad people is stopping me from claiming the title I deserve. Sad!

I was thinking this also, but then I remembered that Takanoshou actually went kyujo but not because of covid, so he must have been treated as a regular 1-14 record. Meanwhile Endo was a 3-9 and....I don't know, they counted it as a 6-9?...and even by that standard they were generous. By the way, I forgot this Takanosho fact and put him as M3e in my 8th placed guess for this basho. That GTB game is just great.
-
Nishikifuji got 3 wins by fusen on the same basho for the first time in history in makuuchi. As a master of the technique, he should've been awarded the gino-sho. Query He equalled ma boy Kasuganishiki, but "The shopkeeper" only made it in juryo. Weak. I wonder if the feat did cost him some kesho-mawashi back then.
-
Comfortable last place for my old shikona, even with a Ryuden for yusho pick I'd have been on the last 4. That means I'm killing at UDH, right? You're welcome, everybody.

And this, boys and girls, is how the legend of Schrödinger Miyabikeumi started. He lived in perennial superposition, being kadoban and sekiwake-zeki at the same time. You couldn't even collapse the wave function by looking under his mawashi.
