While we appreciate the joke i think the message being expresse3d here simply: Sumo can be dreadful without the Asa who is the best rikishi of this generation. I don't know if it has anything with one of my favs Chiyotaikai not being able to challenge for the tittle on MSNIBN. Naah - I think Futeno should be today's king by virtue of his shikona. :-) I don't find sumo without Asa dreadful - Who takes the Yusho is just a small aspect of every basho, and even with Asahoryu, he's only in 1 of 200 daily fights.

Quote: "Regarding Kaio's mental toughness, it is all about pity. People love to feel good to pity weak ones like Kaio, because weak people associate themselves with weak. People hate the strong one and intimidated by strong one like Asashoryu " We are getting a bit one-dimensional here, aren't we? Physical strength is not mental strength and only few people would attest an incorrigble child mental strength, do we should separate the two. Asa certainly has great physical strength and shows great sumo - but quite frankly I feel let down by the way he behaved the last four months, and for me trying to avoid an aplogy that certainly to a certain extent feels humiliating is a sign of mental weakness not strength. If you cannot bring yourself to apologise before other people, than that's a sign for a weak ego. Injury-wise and age-wise Kaio has certainly more reason than Asa to sulk and complain and excuse himself from the Jungyo - you do remember for instance that Kaio participated at the summer jungyo even though he was injured in the July tournament and it was recommended that he "stays in bed". Well - since all of your posts a perfectly one-sided I might have saved my words.

I thought I'd add my scores to the list - even though some games have not posted results yet. Most results are under the Shikona 'Neko' with the exception of GTB and SalaryCap Sumo It has certainly been one of my better bashos - I have been able to do more keiko in the weeks prior to the basho and it certainly paid off. But before we go into the results - my thanks also to all game moderators, banzuke compilers etc. (Neener, neener...) (Showing respect...) (Sigh...) - the games are great fun, they give an additional kick to watching the basho, and they draw your attention to not-so-well-known rikishi. I managed KK in all three Seki games :-D ! As a late comer to all games ( I started in Mid-2006) it is certainly difficult and a long way to the upper divisions of the Banzuke. Sekitoto 8-7 After the bad second week, I managed to just get my KK and hopefully can climb a place or two on the Banzuke. At Ms19 I am still quite far away from Sekitori-hood. Sekiquad 9-6 This is my first KK, and if the daily commentaries are believed from Ms8, I might even sneak into Juryo. (On the banzuke...) Sekioracle 10-5 The daily scores in Sekitori Oracle can be quite misleading, as I stayed below the KK line until day 10 and was one point away from MR right until day 14. As Shin-Juryo, I should comfortably settle down in Mid-Juryo. SalaryCap ?? The results are not out, but I am in the upper half of the Makushita division, and hopefully a record around 9-6 will get me into the promotion zone from Ms5. Heya Cup 9-6 I have no idea, but I tend to perform poorly in this game - maybe because I don't use daily picks? Anyway a 9-6 is in the lower half, so it would still be a MK. (Yusho winner...) Aim for Yokozuna ?? First try in the beta test version - again i have no idea how I performed, but it is probably a game where I will not be in the top half. FAWL 8-7 (Dripping sweat...) The only game where I am in Sanyaku at Komosubi level - since it is quite a new game. At 8-7 I just avoided demotion. The is the second 8-7 with just one point more than required in a row - I certainly need to do more Keiko.(Lifting weights...) GTB 5-10 (I dunno...) The banzuke clearly remains a mystery to me. And finally, the division games - this is were I really (Locked...) : Juryo 3-4 Oh, well - and that's the only game where I managed a real KK so far Makushita 8-7 Given that the average score is 9-6 or 10-5, it is certainly not great result. Sandanme 7-8? I managed to get more losses than wins - I think that's quite a feat - negativewise. Luckily, we don't have a Juryo division yet. Jo-Jo 5-2? Certainly an above average performance for me - it clearly shows I belong to (In jonokuchi...) See you all in 2008. Neko

Yes - I had the same feeling - just opposite I was at 8-7/7-8 the whole basho, and then on day 15 I end up 10-5. The daily scores can be pretty misleading for Sekitori Oracle. Neko

You have Kotooshu as a looser, you win ! Ooh - I thought he had to fight in order for me to gain points - must have mixed this with the rules from another game. Thanks for the info. Neko (In jonokuchi...)
-
8-7 on day 12, one point away from 7-8 and Kotooshu in the final line-up (In jonokuchi...)
-
Happy birthday ! (Applauding...)
-
I don't know - he is popular with fans and they might want to see him continue in Jungyo's and in the basho - So I would put the % at less than 50% if he gets KK - especially since he started the basho without proper preparations (not that this is so unusual) (Sign of approval...)
-
I just tried and that's OK ! I don't understand why you didnt' succeed to access to FAWL site... Try again and tell us if you have any problem (standing part). At the end of the third period, you count 33 pts and gain a 8-7... Have a good second week ! Yes - I managed this morning. - A good final 5 days to you too. Thanks for the great game. Neko (Showing respect...)

Hmm - not when I enter the page - Neko (Whistling...)

I remember in a different post Gusoyama was saying that he is stretched a bit this time and will not be able to update the results frequently. So I guess we just have to be patient.
-
I'd also go for Kotooshu - why doesn't he count - i wouldn't be surprised, if due to the knee we get's demoted to Sekiwake in 2008.
-
And here's my take Makuuchi wins: Tochiozan Makuuchi loses: Wakakirin Juryo wins: Iwakiyama Juryo loses: Yoshiazuma Neko

Yep - it was difficult to find out the deadline this time as the www.dichne.com/guess.htm still shows "Deadline for the September Basho WAS Saturday, August 25th, 2007- 18:00 GMT/ 14:00 US - EST" But the entry page work. Xiaotan

I don't know - "a look of contempt" as stated above your post would only warrant a more disrespectful than average rikishi. As we've discussed over and again in other threads in the last couple of weeks - power doesn't make you a great rikishi - or does that only apply to Yokozunas.
-
If you provide the wheelchair - I can certainly do that on days 13 and 14 when I'm there. I would like to take such close-up pictures myself - so that would be my chance! ;-)
-
Ah, well - if I'm in Tokyo at the time - which happens once every so seldom - sure - looks like a cool place to checkout ;-)
-
What a start (Sign of approval...) - if we only had a game called "pick the loser" I'd probably be a top performer. Neko

Yes. I know someone who knows someone who saw you playing soccer during last basho. That's a no-no in Makushita Game, so a suspension was in order. But seriously, I simply made a mistake. I am sorry, hope you will accept my apology, and I will think deeply about my faulty ways. I don't have the files available right now, but I will fix the banzuke within the next 12 hours. That's absolutely fine - I full appreciate the time and effort you must be spending on maintaining this game (Dancing of joy...) . If it's more convenient - I am happy to reappear on the next Banzuke after Aki - I still have to improve my Keiko to rise to a respectable rank anyway. (In jonokuchi...)
-
Aah, what happened to me - (Dancing of joy...) - have I been suspended by the Banzuke Deliberation Commitee? Neko
-
Why would they have to hear what he has to say? There was enough circumstantial evidence as was pointed out a few posts above. Apart from the fact that it wasn't really the first time that rules had been flouted. What would have been the purpose of hearing Asashoryu? Since case appears to be not about the soccer game but the absence from the Jungyo. - Do you think it would have good for Asashoryu trying to explain why he didn't want to participate in the Jungyo tour? I think that it wouldn't have been a good idea for Asashoryu to try to argue in front of the board, this would only have aroused more passion on both sides.
-
Well since Takasago Oyakata is the stablemaster so to speak supervisor of Yokozuna Asashoryu, he certainly has a much higher ranking, regardless of much money Asashoryu earns. Lookign at it from a family perspective, you'd still be asked to listen to your father, even if you outshine hime professionally and earn more money than he ever did.

I also enjoyed the game. (On the banzuke...) One of the two games very I had two subsequent KK. Neko

I am no longer the last - seems that I am in good company this basho when it comes to dismal selections (I am not worthy...) Neko
