I remember that he wasn't considered a super prospect, but someone who could make Sandanme and potentially Makushita fairly easy. A lesser version of Toseiryu essentially. So he's def below expectations.

There is a market here in America for Sumo wrestling, it's just relatively untapped. The way the "Freak Shows" still get thousands of viewers not only in attendance but also online proves it I think. The only way you can do it I think while retaining some sense of honor/prestige is doing everything you can to hold the events like Ozumo. I'm talking dirt dohyos, bringing in former Rikishi as judges/coaches, having a banzuke. And while doing all that you also connect with the younger audience that views sports mostly through social media. Jomboy Media (youtube channel with a million plus subscribers) has done several videos on the sport for example. Bring in him and others and show them the stuff more hardcore sumo fans would know.

Probably good for Asakayama to start recruiting heavily again. Kaisho looks unlikely to make it back to Juryo for a while. Having a younger Kaisei to recruit has to help too

I do wonder how much more Journalists are willing to take with a potential widespread bullying scandal. There is no way not every other stable is clean, and if I were to guess, many are covering up their own misdeeds/stuff that might not make for good press. Something to consider as while this is a huge story, only last year we had what 2 instances of bullying? Naruto Heya and Michinoku Heya?

Isegahama would be crazy ngl. The other 3 are all pretty unsuccessful, but Oshima has had a ton of success before, so would assume them.

This story has been a thing outside of Sumoforum circles for a minute, but that's because r/sumo for example think Chris Gould is slightly (can't emphasize on how slightly) more reliable then here. But I also wouldn't take the tabloids serious until the sources here start talking. TBF Nishonoseki is a palace compared to every other beya. Pretty sure if someone were to bully another Rikishi, medieval knights would come out of the walls to stop it.
