Hearing that no one tested positive today in Shikoroyama, Takasago, Sakaigawa, or Miyagino stables. Everyone concerned should be able to participate in the autumn tournament

It will all likely depend on whether or not he gets selected for the NFL IPP next year. -
Amateur yokozuna gives up sumo to pursue NFL dream

He wasn’t chosen for the NFL International Player Program combine that takes places at Tottenham Hotspur stadium in Oct. That probably came as a disappointment as the NFL seems to be prioritizing physical potential over proven football ability - 12 Nigerians with no football experience made the list while Fujitsu Frontiers WR Riki Matsui is the only Japanese participant. Hanada is still young and hopes to makes the NFL IPP next year. The NFL is still the longest of long shots for him but he’s giving it a go. -
The event was postponed due to visa issues.

Hiro went to high school and college (Ohio State) in the US. -
Shimoda was ms15TD which in effect made him ms15.5 for banzuke purposes - something his non promotion to juryo showed us.

The shusshin in our list is just where they are listed as living in the info given to media. There is also the honseki, which in his case is Mongolia. When he is stepping up onto the dohyo he’ll probably be announced as from the latter.

There is almost no chance of the JSA doing deep dives on the less savory aspects of the sport on its own in-house channel. -

Pokemon is the biggest media franchise in the world by far. It's $118 Billion revenue far outpaces that of Star Wars, Disney, MCU, etc. They can definitely afford to throw more yen in for better cameras and production than Hiro - at this stage anyway. -

Probably bears repeating that Sumo Prime Time is a JSA channel. Hiro is the face of the venture but it's the kyokai's own property. That makes it different from all others. All other media have to jump through many hoops for coverage while Sumo Prime Time is a JSA production based at the Kokugikan and exempt from all those rules and restrictions. -
Well if we can participate....the languages understood by the main people in this company include: Native level: English / Japanese / German / French / Romansh / Hebrew Various levels of fluency: Irish / Italian / Spanish / Portuguese / Québécois / Kiswahili Then - if you include occasional contributors - there are all kinds levels of languages understood such as Yoruba, American Sign Language, Hawaiian, Russian, etc >99% of the work we do is in either Japanese or English though so apart from in background music few of those languages get heard on the regular.

That and the choice of music is something that will likely change in future episodes. The first few were recorded as a bunch. It's a very small team working on the channel and they are paying close attention to feedback. Not every request can be met in the short term but they are very keen to provide the kind of content the audience actually wants. -

They don’t intend to either. Media basically told that ‘you’ll see who is there on the day”. Saw Kotoeko getting off the train at Tachikawa a couple of hours ago so he’s probably in,

Hakuho has 27 years left until he has to retire as a stable master - less than the average time taken by the past five JSA chairmen to reach the sport’s top post, following the end of their active careers. - Japan Times -

The main producer / director of this channel is another former NHK employee who was responsible for much of the NHK World sumo content over the past decade or so. His style is unmistakeable so it's no surprise it feels similar. -
That is exactly what was expected (and received) in Japan for most of the past two years in soccer - and baseball as well as most other sports.
