I think it's age combined with the coming of new talents swarming up the banzuke. There just arent as many guys left that he can push around.
-
I find what nqyztdhr (had to copy and paste that nick to get it right (Protesting...) :-O ) is saying to be true. Sumo just isnt designed to hurt or neutralize your opponent. Just to push him around and test your strenght. This is also what most ex-rikishi tend to do in K-1, pride, ufc. No problems pushing back the opponent into the ropes, but what to do next? Take a beating and hit the mat I guess (Applauding...)

Miyabiyama did this a lot a while ago, and he managed to fix it. If only for a short period of time, cause it seems he's back there now (Applauding...) To stay on the topic, I dont really know who's better of the two, but I do think osh has the most potential. There seems to be room to add a bit more weight and strenght for him, and if he does he might become a real monster. In a good way of course.

Bench Sumo: My worst basho ever in this game, as far as I can recall. Finished 5-10. :-) Seki-toto: A little better than BS, but still MK. 7-8 here. Rotosumo: I magically managed to get KK here, 8-7! I was 17th place out of 27 in juryo (if I counted correctly), so I really thought I was going to go MK. Oh well, last time I was first one to get 7-8, now I'm last one with 8-7, so I can see some fairness in this :-( ISP: My only good game. 12-3 here. To think I used to suck bad at isp and be pretty good at BS and rotosumo. At least I'm still about average in ST (Blushing...)

Congrats! I was hoping to be able to join you guys in makuuchi pretty soon, but my 5-10 set those plans back a bit (Blushing...)

So they mean pants under mawashi would look cool? :-O I just think it would look odd. Like pro wrestler "yokozuna" (Applauding...) Also, as a supporter of No Pants Day, I'm opposed to the use of pants in sumo!

What? Everybody knows he's going to win. Might as well do it as quick and painless as possible (In a state of confusion...) :-O

I think most people seem to care when any sekitori, or at least makuuchi rikishi, shows signs of being hurt after a bout. But of course a rough sumo bout will hurt a little here and there, even if its only temporary pain and nothing to be worried about.
-
I dont think a lot of people would since it has already been mentioned here on the forum. That thread also said his absence was reported early enogh so that there would be no fusen bout tomorrow.

I think that was buyuzan or some musashigawa rikishi... I'm not sure either tho... (Shaking head...)
-
Grattis! (Shaking head...)
-
It has given him some trouble tho, in that every rikishi wants to beat him really badly, since it's always a bunch of kensho on the line.
-
Wow, that's a very dramatic article (Spooky TV program...)
-
Wow, he touched the belt! :-S (Shaking head...)
-
That's great for you! Congratulations!

Entrance music perhaps? ;-)

He did do it a lot a while ago when he was injured but still held on to his ozeki rank with the help of the kosho rule and plenty henka's.

I used to read that page regularly a couple of years ago, now I only read it every now and then. But it's a d*mn funny page imo. You guys should read the "legal threats" section, wich is about the funniest stuff I've ever read on the internet.

Format changes on Eurosport broadcasting
Naifuzan replied to Koldonowaka's topic in Ozumo Discussions
NOW they change it! My landlord just switched cable suppliers, and the new one doesnt have eurosport (Singing drunk...) -
Just dont pick anything ending with zan! (Punk rocker...) There's apparently some sort of curse over those whose shikonas end in zan. It makes you inable to get anything over 10 wins in bench sumo even if you get the highest score of all divisions! (Punk rocker...) :-D

I want one of those!!! (In a state of confusion...)

It's less work and no less fun (In a state of confusion...)

I remember when I first started watching sumo a couple of years ago Furuichi was in juryo. I guess he wasnt that good, but he sure was little. Below 100kg I think. He was really fun to watch, I wish I could have seen more of him.

I have a very refined strategy when making picks for games. I pick the rikishi I think will win. In case of pre basho games I pick the ones I think will get the most wins! Well... At least that's what I try to do. Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me. But yeah, usually I pick about the same in all the games. Going one way in one game and another way in another game seems a bit cowardly to me, and if I'd get a good result in a game with such a strategy, instead of picking the ones I think will win and being right, I wouldnt feel like I deserved the success. I have a strategy I'm thinking of using, but havent used yet, and that is to make picks as usual, then reverse all the picks. This should work especially well in Sekitoto and ISP B-)

I have a theory on this. I think there are mainly two kinds of K-1 fans. Those who like the sport, and those who like the entertainment. People like Akebono and Bob Sapp are part of the "freak show" element in K-1, wich is popular by the second cathegory of fans I mentioned. And these are probably the kind of K-1 fighters that will participate in the wrestling events. So I think the ones who like the serious fighters and the sport wont care what these "freak show" fihgters do, and will probably be happy to see them out of the K-1 ring for a while. The ones who like the "freak shows" probably wont object to pro wrestling either.
