Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted June 20, 2003 This forum is actually among the most powerful I've seen as far as personal controls and helper features. Very impressive. Especially after the recent update to Invision 1.1.1. Back on the subject of this thread: it never occurred to me to connect Coca Cola brand name with coca leaves. Wow. That'll be my interesting though of the day (Nodding yes...) (Beware of the blue one...)
Kotoseiya Yuichi 3 Posted June 20, 2003 Especially after the recent update to Invision 1.1.1. Version 1.2 is already in its beta cycle and is likely to be installed here after Nagoya Basho. (Licking lips...)
QttP 0 Posted June 21, 2003 So Qttp was a mistake then was it? I thought it was that or you was a snooker fan(Cue-tip). Well, actually, it wasn't a mistake. It's a name I use on all non-computer forums I go to. It has nothing to do with snooker, because, even though, I _am_ a snooker fan (snooker and sumo are the only two worthy things shown on Eurosport), the name QttP was before that. I really don't remember why I've come up with that, and surely don't know what it means (maybe it's just HTTP with a Q), but it's a nice one.
Fujisan 533 Posted June 21, 2003 Especially after the recent update to Invision 1.1.1. Version 1.2 is already in its beta cycle and is likely to be installed here after Nagoya Basho. (Licking lips...) Im probably the only one not looking forward to that Koto because Im already struggling with your site and this will likely make it worse-Not your fault though. Fujisan 533 Posted June 21, 2003 Sorry then Qttp,my mistake-Its just it didnt sound like a sumo name but hey what do I know. I usually post under my own name elsewhere(PAUL) but I also post under Tenjo2(Ps2 forums),Combat master(Professional wrestling) and Mystery man.(One religious forum)
Rijicho 6 Posted June 21, 2003 (...) this will likely make it worse One of the primary goals of the IPB project is to be as standards compliant as possible and I believe 1.2 brings new advancements in that regard. Bugs are fixed (and new ones introduced). Then again 1.2 is said to be a step towards XML which might be a potential problem to some web devices other than conventional computers. We shall see.... Fujisan 533 Posted June 21, 2003 Ive got a bad feeling about this Rijicho-My luck with these forum changes is not very good-We WILL see though like you say. What is XML,is it an advanced version of HTML or something?
Kotoseiya Yuichi 3 Posted June 22, 2003 What is XML (...)? Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple, very flexible text format derived from SGML (ISO 8879). Originally designed to meet the challenges of large-scale electronic publishing, XML is also playing an increasingly important role in the exchange of a wide variety of data on the Web and elsewhere. Fujisan 533 Posted June 22, 2003 Thanks for the info Koto,Im not much wiser to be honest-Not a lot of computer experience to fall back on.
Kotoseiya Yuichi 3 Posted June 22, 2003 Not a lot of computer experience to fall back on. I can't really claim to actually understand that either. I'm surprisingly clumsy with computers for someone running a web forum.
Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted June 24, 2003 Slightly off topic, but I'll rant anyways as I'm a bit bored. XML was conceived to be simple, and was simple at first. But it's a bit out of control. For example, look at all the XML standards out there: XML Big Pictures And some accompanying discussion: Here But I'll stop here...
Zentoryu 154 Posted June 24, 2003 I've been wanting to use this for a LONG time, so here it goes... (Applauding...) B-) (Cheers...) That was fun! (Applauding...) (Laughing...) :-D :-) (Applauding...) :-) (Sign of approval) (Bleh!) (Licking lips...)
QttP 0 Posted June 25, 2003 Yep, Zentoryu-zeki is right. Since the Cola discussion has seen the end of itself, I shall now close this topic.
