He was kachi-koshi, albeit 8-7 most of time, every basho of 2006. Even Kitanoumi Rijicho says, "His ability is on a par with the ozeki." I assume that was meant as a compliment. The perennial ozeki aspirant knows his problem. "Mentally, I may be the weakest guy in the world," he admits. "In order to be an ozeki, I would have to be able to fully concentrate for 3 basho . . . a total of 45 days. Right now, I have eczema break out on my feet before [important] bouts. I just have to get myself [mentally] tougher." OK, Mickey. This is the crucial year. Let's find out once and for all. Are you indeed a man or a . . . mouse? (Consoling...) A week or so ago the plastic Kotomitsuki plaque in my keychain snapped off from its metal base (but I found it). Coincidence? I think not! (Holiday feeling...) Mickey is into something big. Koriyama 0 Posted January 6, 2007 IMHO Kotomitsuki has to beat Asashoryu if he wants to began ozeki run. Only ending that humiliating streak can give Mickey enough self confidence to become an ozeki. He can beat any ozeki, but all ozekis are able to beat yokozuna and Mickey is not. Only when he stops being boxing bag for aforementioned bully, he will be ready for ozekihood. Well usually he gets KK within the first 10 days and loses the last five, so he figures he'll switch it up a bit (Showing respect...)
