Kintamayama 45,495 Posted February 7, 2007 (edited) Kakizoe (28) registered to get married today. The victim is Asai Emi (?浅井栄美) 25, a "domestic servant", which usually means a maid. Her mother manages a company in Nagoya. The wedding is set for December 16th, so I suggest you pencil it in NOW. They have been at it for 7 years now. They met each other when Kakizoe was a member of the Nittaidai Sumo club and she was a member the women's sumo club. He proposed to her after his senshuraku bout after getting his KK on day 14. "I want us to be together", he said. He told his Oyakata of this at the senshuraku party. In 2002, she won the shin-zumo tournament in the heavyweight category. And now, a quiz: Kakizoe said this : (Pick one of the following) 1. "It is my duty to flush out all talk of yaocho and bring it out in the open!" 2. " Vox populi, vox dei". 3. "It is important for me to continue to gambarize from now on. For my wife's sake , I hope to return to Sanyaku soon". 4. "I will be working closely with NHK to weed out any illegal postings of video and other copyrighted matter, including unauthorized translations of on-line sumo articles. I will also raid the tombs of all those that call me 'Angelina' ". 5. "I did not have sex with that woman". 6. "My new wife does better shiko than me". 7. "I am not a sore loser". The winner gets to be interrogated by the Kyokai about their involvement in yaocho. Edited February 7, 2007 by Kintamayama

ilovesumo 12 Posted February 7, 2007 Nothing on the blog yet. I want to see a picture of both (Whistling...) I love those "Rikishi lifting his girl up" fotos. The nicest one was the one of Buyuzan and his wife. :-)

The nicest one was the one of Buyuzan and his wife. :-) If she's in the heavyweight division, that's going to be a little harder. There's nothing wrong with a big girl of course, they're just harder to lift, thats all. :-) Edited to add: I had no idea of the weight classes in shin-zumo. Forgive my ignorance and lack of class. Jonosuke 28 Posted February 7, 2007 She was a member of Nihon University Sumo Club and won the Heavyweight class (over 65 kg) at an All Japan Shin-Sumo Championship back in 2002, I believe. I guess that means she was around when Yoshida, Mori and Sakaizawa were there.

madorosumaru 7 Posted February 7, 2007 Kakizoe (28) registered to get married today. The victim is Asai Emi (?浅井栄美) 25, a "domestic servant", which usually means a maid. Her mother manages a company in Nagoya.. . . Just to clarify, it is her father that owns or manages a company in Nagoya. Also, 家事手伝い (literal translation - household helper) is not a "maid" in this case. In Japan, where everyone's position in society is determined by his/her occupation, a young woman who is neither pursuing an education nor working for a living but lives at home with her parent(s) is given that occupational description. She is helping her mother with the household duties--in other words, she is an "apprentice homemaker." Kakizoe's fiancee is a college grad whose father either owns or manages a company. She is definitely not working as as a maid.

Kintamayama 45,495 Posted February 7, 2007 Just to clarify, it is her father that owns or manages a company in Nagoya. Indeed. My bad. Also, 家事手伝い (literal translation - household helper) is not a "maid" in this case. Peterao 3 Posted February 8, 2007 "Register to marry" is a bit of a misnomer. In Japan, it is "Registered the marriage" Once you register at the ward office, you are officially married, so they are now already hitched. It is just the ceremony that is happening in December. kaiguma 0 Posted February 8, 2007 "Register to marry" is a bit of a misnomer. In Japan, it is "Registered the marriage" Once you register at the ward office, you are officially married, so they are now already hitched. It is just the ceremony that is happening in December. This is perfectly accurate on the books, but potentially confusing. Reason being, in a social sense the registration can be more like an engagement. Many couples (from my personal experience only) wait until after the ceremony to move in together and have honeymoon, if they opt for that particular tradition. If 65kg really is heavyweight for shin-sumo I would not be surprised, what with the Japanese standard of female figure and self-image (Whistling...) Many of my wife's friends are still trying to limit their weight gain to 5kg during pregnancy! :-D This is actually given as the bottom end of healthy weight gain by some physicians! Studies are showing a marked tendency towards higher rates of infants born malnourished. Not as if it has approached similar levels from nations which are literally starving, but still . . . good news is that the alarming trend has backed down just a tad, with some doctors catching on and recommending a healthier and more realistic diet. In her case, I think Kakizoe could pick her up, but she might be more likely to dominate that role. Keiko genki desu ne? (Laughing...)
