He looks like..........now why don't those (who made mountain out of mole hill) push him little bit more ..........He is ready to fly back home. He is not remorseful at and it is not the age (just 26) to be remorseful.....

Isn't it all they wanted. Home is better anyway,.....

He'll stay, because he is a real man, and not your idea of what a "real Man" is, thank God.

yes...."REAL MAN" definition is quite different in different cultures.

Maybe, if they successfully nipponize him. But he does not look like remorseful at all. And he is not in the age (just 26) to be remorseful. He is just "bad boy", not a malicious guy who "dishonour national sport of Japan" or who insulted by cheating the Kyokai.

He just made mistake like school boy tried to skip a class which was very boring to him. Instead he played soccer. (Tears forming...) XAXAXA

XAXAXA indeed. You are dead wrong, sir. He is deeply remorseful, maybe not so much because he did something wrong in the Kyokai's eyes, but because he seems to grasp that he may be thrown out of the sport without achieving his real goal-being the greatest there ever was. Highly competitive as he is, he won't give up easily on that one.

So your idea of a "real man" is somebody who acts like a spoiled school boy, and when the adults scold him the right thing for him to do is to pick up his stuff and run home to mommy? As Moti said, thank goodness Asashoryu is at least more mature than you want him to be.

Funny, some people.

"So while this punishment may seem incredibly harsh to those outside Japan, it's fairly par for the course in these kinds of situations."-quote-

Your kidding me, confining people to their quarters, these are Nazi methods. The ruling would not stand up in front of any legal court. I think there is also a racial issue here. Many Japanese have a tendency to think that their race is superiour on this planet, and believe me I know what I am talking about, as I have 6 years of experience on this subject now.

Kitonoumi is one of the silliest buttheads I have ever seen. Saw him sitting next to Jaque Chirac in Osaka 2 years ago. He never talked with Chirac in 2 hours just sat next to him looking straight ahead, now I think that calls for a severe punishment for not fullfilling his job.

I had planned to go to see the Fukuoka basho in November, but its pretty uninteresting now, so I will just skip it. Spend the money on something else.

Yet it would be very funny if the Yogurt man or Mickey would win the next two yushos, and the sumo organization would be forced to promote one of them to yokozuna.

There is no point arguing with new members who have obiviously only joined to vent there ridiculous theories about Asashoryu. They quite simply have no idea about sumo or Japan and I don't expect we will see them contribute anything in other threads. Don't give them the oxygen by replying.

It's kinda sad that many of the Mongolian members see everything through the cloud of race or nationalism. There seems to be a real insecurity there. The "curse of small nations" as I think Manekineko once said.

if you talk with new members in this tone, how could the forum will attract other people. Forum is the place for knowing different opinions, is it? Or is this Sumoforum just small performing stage for some "WE"

Damn Nazis and their confining of 6 millions Jews to their rooms during WWII.

At least there weren't six basho a year in those days so they didn't miss as much sumo.

The Jews had their salaries reduced by a lot more than 30%, though.

Seriously, is there an unannounced contest going here among newbies and infrequent posters as to who can mount the most ridiculous defense of Asashoryu?

Why should it hold up in front of any legal court? He didn't break any laws, he broke the code of conduct for the corporation that he works for and that pays his salary. I've seen much worse for much less, as an IT administrator. How about forwarding a joke, and losing your job? I've seen it happen more than a handful of times. Your argument is simply ludicrous.

And once again, Godwin's law is proven to be true, though I have not seen it in effect that often on this board. I thought that was mainly because calling someone a Nazi was a very American thing to do.

A few things.

Something leads me to suspect that this is not your first time on the forum. Perhaps you are indeed a "new member" and not someone else in disguise or just a troll. Let's say for the sake of arguement you are a new member. If that is the case...

You obviously have very little knowledge about Sumo or Japan, but that didn't stop you coming on here and throwing around some of the most ridiculous and stupid conspiracy theories ever seen on the sumo forum. Not only that you you have added the element of race and nationality to the arguement. That's a poisonous combination no matter the context.

You have contributed nothing of any value, but rather than just being harmless you have helped create an atmosphere of negativity.

As for your personality.....I couldn't care less. I'll be happy when you disappear or are banned, which won't be long if you follow the pattern of others who made a similarly inauspicious debut.

I am new member. Maybe I have little knowledge (frankly, it is only Asashoryu videos on Youtube) compare to you or any other old members. Does it supposed to make me to refrain from expressing my opinion which can be right or wrong. Forum rule did not mention such things.

well, on my routine check up on Asashoryu on internet, I found this forum. Unfortunately it was wrong time to be member. I was arduous defender of Japanese sumo (which is represented by Asa in my little knowledge) from general ridiculous comments of American Football fans who are surrounding me present time. Maybe I should separate mongol Asa and japan Sumo in my understanding

Also I did not contribute anything. I know it is because I know less than you. Can it be reason to be ridiculed by you. Your attitude is very inhospitable/arrogant for knowledgeable (as you claim to be) person.

Plus please don't accuse me for

1. throwing around some of the most ridiculous and stupid conspiracy

2. the element of race and nationality to the arguement

3. causing inauspicious debut

All these were already here. You can check if my post were reason or not. If I am guilty, ban me

Guest Mulan

As I said in my previous post I think that the punishment is too severe. How is it possible to take three things at once: reduction of pay, house arrest and suspension from two bashos? Why Asa should be under house arrest? Did he do anything that bad? He didn

Nishinoshima, I find your attacks on fellow forum members from Mongolia especially disturbing and yet very typical. A European is always right, eh?

Why do you become enraged when someone provides an opinion different that of yours? Because Europeans can't tolerate when non-Europeans argue with them. It's inherent racism which you do not notice, but is very evident from the point of view of other people.

Even in such a non-Western subject as sumo, Europeans impose their sole authority to interpret whilst harassing other people's views. Such a colonial attitude is still persistent with your mentality.

And thou, Nishinoshima, son of Ireland, shouldst have known better the dreadful yoke of racism and discriminatory policy when applying them yourself. Therefore, I urge ere it's not too late to cease your foul words.

It's supremely funny to see such a comment coming from the person who has made more attacks on Mongolian culture and "typical Mongolian behaviour" than anybody else on the forum.

Afraid of the competition, I suppose. Or maybe only Mongolians can bash other Mongolians without the "racist!" card being played. Really, a handful of you with your constant racism/xenophobia shtick are altogether tiresome...small nation syndrome doesn't even begin to describe it.
