Doitsuyama 1,178 Posted March 10, 2008 The field of undefeated sanyaku rikishi is down to three as Kotoshogiku lost to Tokitenku. Chiyotaikai won against his favorite aite Aminishiki to profit from a favorable early schedule. Tomorrow he faces Kisenosato who clearly was stronger than ozeki Kotomitsuki today. Only one ozeki lost today as Kotooshu and Kaio had good wins for a change. The two yokozuna Hakuho and Asashoryu had no problems with Asasekiryu and Kakuryu. Tochinoshin and Tamawashi continue to impress as they look much improved in wins against Kotokasuga and Shirononami and both are set for makuuchi soon. Hoshihikari won against Koryu between two top ranked Mongolians and might also be in makuuchi in the future. Tamanoshima looked very sluggish in a loss to Chiyohakuho. Golynohana 319 Posted March 10, 2008 hmm, it is strange. It works fine for me. Maybe try with another web browser. There are some problems with displaying bouts on Mozilla Firefox
crall 2 Posted March 10, 2008 Maybe try with another web browser. There are some problems with displaying bouts on Mozilla Firefox I second this advise. I usually use firefox and have always had trouble watching the videos, sometime they work sometime they don't. Earlier today I finally decided to check if it was browser related and it appears that that might be the case, as the videos worked just fine with IE. Bealzbob 0 Posted March 10, 2008 I rectified the problem by registering. Perhaps they have now made the video forum invisible (or inaccessible) to guests. Although I could have sworn I signed up before... Anyhoo, it's working for me now in Firefox on XP.
Vikanohara 171 Posted March 10, 2008 In what way did Tosayutaka lose against Shunketsu ? I could imagine he would start losing at some point, but against Shunketsu is really a surprise to me.

Disclaimer: Question marks indicate my lack of terminology and general knowledge when it comes to describing the technical aspects of sumo. They were locked for a few seconds, Shunketsu had a migi-uwate (?). Then he made a lightning-fast dashinage move (?) that spun Tosayutaka out of balance. Then the oldie easily pushed him out from behind.

Shomishuu 0 Posted March 10, 2008 Anyone else getting an error on the Info-sumo video page. I'm still having problems. I've been registered for a long long time and had no issues until about two months ago. I get logged in fine, select the bout I want...but when I click on the screen to start the video just like always, the video doesn't play, but instead it just cycles through a list of the matchups for that day. It's been like that for a couple months and happens on both Firefox and Safari... Mac OSX here. Ideas???

Asashosakari 19,213 Posted March 10, 2008 Just noticed that there are only 11 juryo rikishi with makuuchi experience this basho. That seems pretty low. Unfortunately the server timeouts mean it's not too easy to look up in the DB right now what the recent numbers have looked like...Doitsuyama?

Yes... the last time with less than 12 was Haru 2001 with 10, even one less. Slightly smaller juryo division though. The last basho with 9 was Natsu 1996 and the only time with 8 in the six-basho era was Nagoya 1971.

I have read on there that IE is the preferred browser for viewing those bouts.
higginbotham 0 Posted March 10, 2008 It looks like he may be approaching the wall this basho. Maybe not yet. Shunketsu had a good tachiai keeping Tosayutaka from getting close to the mawashi and a very quick spin was enough to give Shunketsu aite's back but Tosayutaka, nonetheless, looks quite good for lower Juryo. A win for him against Kyokunankai.
