Zenjimoto 40 Posted September 22, 2003 Thanks to all who played Sekitori-Toto and Sekitori-Oracle during Aki Basho 2003! In Sekitori-Toto, we had a very impressive win by world class Finn Kaikitsune, who clinched Yusho already on Day 13, which is no mean task! Kaikitsune wins his first Sekitori-Toto Yusho, congratulations to a worthy champion! Asashosakari wins the Shukun-sho, with his outstanding performance on day 6 when he scored .839. Hakajusakari is the Gino-sho winner, for scoring the most points of all players, 286.5, while Andoreasu amazingly takes his already FIFTH Kanto-sho as the Kachi-koshi player with the highest risk factor. Incredible! More details and additional prize winners to be announced soon. http://www.sekitori-toto.com In Sekitori-Oracle, we have our first repeat winner!! Gachinco of Japan takes his second Yusho, by a hair in front of Ookihito, and another Japanese games maven, Wasarabiyama. Fabulous! A second trophy will make its way to Japan shortly! Gachinco also wins the Shukun-sho, while Asashosakari is a double sansho winner, taking the Kanto-sho in Oracle together with his Shukun-sho in Toto. Frinkanohana and Sengyoumi both win a Gino-sho award this basho. Preliminary results are up at http://www.sekitori-oracle.com - more details to be up within a day or so. Again, thanks to all for playing, and congrats to the winners! :) Stay tuned for more updates on the results... Cheers Zenjimoto
Frinkanohana 13 Posted September 22, 2003 I'm happy to win the Gino-sho in Sekitori-Oracle. :-) This is my first Sansho ever, not only in S-O, but also in any of the games. (Blowing horn...) Now I have to celebrate this unexpected win. :-)

Frinkanohana 13 Posted September 22, 2003 I'm always sucking in Sekitori-Toto. I have played it 5 times now and I'm still waiting for my first KK. ;-) My results so far were 5-10, 6-9, 5-10, 4-11, 6-9. (Depressed...)
Kashunowaka 300 Posted September 22, 2003 I have a feeling that there are a few twists to the calculation of Sekitori-Oracle results that aren't mentioned in the rules page ... (Eating...) The rules say that rikishi who are kyujo before day 1 are excluded (e.g. Musashimaru). So everyone will get zero points for him in their total score. I also take it that Musoyama is included in the total score, since he went kyujo :-P after several days (which means that I got 1 point for him, since I had him at 10-5). (Yawning...) But in the gino-sho column, my lowest score for any rikishi is listed as 3 points. (That would be Wakakosho, whom I had at 8-7. (Oops! )) That must mean that Musoyama is excluded from the calculation of the gino-sho. Is it the same for the other sansho? How is Kasugao treated, who was absent ;-) for 2 days? Pardon me if this is explained somewhere. :-)

Zenjimoto 40 Posted September 23, 2003 I have a feeling that there are a few twists to the calculation of Sekitori-Oracle results that aren't mentioned in the rules page ... :-/The rules say that rikishi who are kyujo before day 1 are excluded (e.g. Musashimaru). I also take it that Musoyama is included in the total score, since he went kyujo (Going kyujo...) after several days (which means that I got 1 point for him, since I had him at 10-5). (Yucky...) But in the gino-sho column, my lowest score for any rikishi is listed as 3 points. (That would be Wakakosho, whom I had at 8-7. (Oops! )) That must mean that Musoyama is excluded from the calculation of the gino-sho. Is it the same for the other sansho? How is Kasugao treated, who was absent (In a state of confusion...) for 2 days? Pardon me if this is explained somewhere. (Blinking...) Yes, you basically got it right. Any rikishi missing from Day 1 is totally excluded, and no matter what you picked for him, it doesn't count at all. Any rikishi who goes kyujo during the tournament is counted in the overall result, but eliminated in the Gino-sho competition, since it would pretty much render those results useless. Since Kasugao went kyujo, he was treated as such, even though he came back. He did not compete the full 15 days... same as if he had pulled out at the end of the basho.
