And there we go...Shotenro just beat Kirinowaka with kimedashi after a drawn-out bout to secure kachikoshi at Ms1w. He can theoretically still be joined by Tokusegawa on the way up, but that looks very unlikely right now. Congrats to the 5 people who got it right. (Yucky...) If I'm not mistaken he'll be the oldest juryo-debuting foreign rikishi since Hoshitango in 1992.

It counts as a reason for me to close the poll and thread even though I was hoping I could leave it open for further discussion...

Kyokushuho: Haru 2009

Arawashi: Kyushu 2009

Daitensho: Kyushu 2009

Sensho: Hatsu 2010

Tokusegawa, Hoshikaze, Shotenro: never

wow this is clipped and precise (Clapping wildly...)

Why should I make half of a fool out of myself when I have the golden opportunity to make a complete fool out of myself? (Clapping wildly...)

Wow, you sure used that opportunity back then to the fullest extent now, didn't you? Especially as Hoshikaze looks ripe for juryo soon as well...

Let me make a complete fool out of myself .... yes I know I am already (Clapping wildly...)

I say Hoshikaze, Kyokushuho never ... but Takanoiwa for sure and also Azumaryu.

I am no longer so sure about Arawashi, but I will not give up and I hope for Sensho

And my next choice is Daitensho.

I'll refrain from commenting until I have much better data. But this will be the case, eventually. I have begun to track rikishi career trajectories dependent on age at entry, number of bashos, highest relative banzuke position achieved, highest relative banzuke position from which a KK was achieved, and lots of stuff since 1957.

By the end of this year (at the latest) I will be able to transcend from just being a fool towards being a fool with lots of data!
