OK, then I'll bring you my favourite cake, Princess Cake:

237-300x300.jpg

The picture is from the web page of a Danish bakery, where it says:

Traditional Scandinavian birthday cake.

Gold cake filled raspberry, custard & whipped cream. Covered with green marzipan.

This cake is usually a divider between those who like marzipan and those who don't. (You are going off-topic...)

I assume this cake is known in Finland too? What about you non-Scandinavians - do you have this cake?

I haven't had any cake today, but it's been a very nice birthday nevertheless. Many thanks to all who have sent me greetings!

B-)

Never seen such a cake in Finland. Usually they're those unimaginative whipped cream ones with strawberry jam or some such inside. Marzipan ones are often brown and shaped like a pine cone. I eat them all if left unattended.

Well, what do you know.

By the way, I realised that I'm not sure whether "Scandinavian" should include Finland or not. (Feeling guilty...) Do you Finns feel that you should be included when I say Scandinavian, or are you as confused as I am?

Not. But Nordic will do. (Blushing...)

Yum. That looks delicious. (Licking lips...)

I believe I've seen one of those somewhere. I must have tasted it, as my religious creed states that all cakes must be eaten. (Holiday feeling...)

All this cake talk reminded me of the fact that I skipped lunch...
