Asojima 2,870 Posted August 31, 2008 (edited) Welcome to the 21 game for Aki 08. The game is a simple pre-basho game in which you are given 21 matchups that may occur in the next basho. You job is to decide whether each match will occur, and , if so, who will win it. Each of the 41 makuuchi rikishi will be found in one and only one match except Kakuryu who appears in two matches due to the blank slot left by Wakanoho. The matchups are selected on the basis of closeness in rank and closeness in win-loss records. The intent is to select 21 of the least predictable matches. Entries are submitted as posts in this topic. Each match will have two rikishi labeled Edited October 13, 2008 by Asojima

Profomisakari 826 Posted September 10, 2008 (edited) And now I must explain something about the rules. In December 2007 we posted new rules with a rule 7 as follows: 7.All bouts will be counted. Rikishi that certainly not will start at the basho should not be included in a selected bout and should be substituted by a suitable Juryo. But if the selection is published, all bouts will count. As Asojima wrote that all responses to the questeion Nr.9 as correct if Roho is suspended, he was not quite conform with rule 7. But I too think it is fair to players who had early given their guesses. I think it's a good solution. We should handle the bout 9 in this kind. Now is Roho deleted from the banzuke and we will count all response to match 9 as correct. The second is the selection. Jim has instead of suspended Wakanoho not selected a Juryo, but to times Kakuryu. But I consider this too to be a good solution. We should let these solutions for the basho and change rule 7 after the basho in this direction. Thanks to Asojima to have made the selection an the Thread handling - though he is this time not at home and has no his own computer.
