If you would like to join our Jonidan Division in this fun, global game, please do the following..... 1) Send an email to <bench_sumo-subscribe@yahoogoups.com> - we keep our games posts separate to the main Sumo ML. 2) Go to <http://benchsumo.sumogames.com> to register and enter your squad for the July basho (all entries to be in before 2 pm JAPAN TIME (NB This is earlier than in most parts of the world) Friday, the 11th July - sorry, it is not possible to make a late entry. 3) Go to <http://www.benchsumo.net> to read the rules ;-) Don't worry about the tie-breaker rules. The essence of the game is easily picked up by playing it a couple of days. Good luck! Jejima 1,384 Posted September 12, 2008 Okay, the reason for the early deadline to bench sumo is in order to allow the torikumi makers enough time to make their torikumis. To do that, they need to be able to get information from the server. Therefore as we can't access the server at this stage, we are turning a blind eye to late entries for this basho only, up until the time that the server is back up again, when we will be able to go to work. Therefore if Vikanohara (and others) would like to make a late entry, best to send it Jakusotsu and me as soon as possible :-) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Hi everyone, The website is back online (omedetou Akisunni and Kofuji!), so you can change your initial squads and make your day 1 picks. Harinezumi, Oshirokita, Jakusotsu and myself are busy entering in all the email entries. So if you are one of those, you may have to wait a bit until your initial entry is in the system. Once this is done, I will announce the dohyo-iris and the torikumi makers can input what they need to input. All of this should be possible before 2 pm Japan time..... so the bench basho will be able to procede. Naturally we make a mistake or two. If this happens, we will try to fix in retrospect where possible (my opinions are final :-)), but if it is not possible, please accept our apologies at this most 'interesting' of bashos admin-wise. The dohyo-iri has already been announced and the torikumi gyoji are currently setting the matchups. We have to revert your status to kosho again, I'm afraid. The torikumis are already mostly made for day 1, and it takes far too long to redo, plus myself, Jakusotsu etc are VERY tired. The only reason you managed to enter was due to a known bug in the system. Because you requested (via PM) for kosho status, I inputted this into the system. This means that the system let's you access until 2 pm today. So sorry, I am going to have to 'Kosho' you again. Now back to torikumi making. [No need for anyone to request kosho status, as it will be granted for everyone who was active in July after 2 pm today, in order to avoid the above mentioned 'bug'.] Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
