Fujisan 533 Posted November 19, 2003 I think Asa vs Tosa is a good pick actually and not as cut and dry as the voting suggest, this as been a good basho for Tosanoumi,he has the talent and the fact that Asa has been strong in the past against Tosa may make him over confident. Fujisan 533 Posted November 19, 2003 Yes thanks Asasho,I dont know where my brain was when I sent that message-just substitute Taikai for Asa and the message works just the same.
jomojo 0 Posted November 22, 2003 Looks like Day 12 will be going the way of Day 3 in terms of being a "lopsided" contest. jomojo As banzuke maker of the ISP, I only can hope that Tosanoumi wins :-) Otherwise there will be many kk again in this game and the Banzuke will be a real challenge once more. Are we that good or have some of the choices been too easy? :-) :-) boy, your task of creating a sensible isp banzuke for next basho looks even harder now the results for Day 14 are in! (Just do not get it...) jomojo

Too many gimmie -bouts this time... im comparison, the "Japanese ISP" game clearly had more balanced bouts, as evident in the scoring... http://www.enjoy.ne.jp/~pero/sumo/version1/2003-11.html I can tell you one thing, I am GLAD I am not doing the ISP Banzuke any more! :-) Poor Fegi!! Kintamayama 45,145 Posted November 22, 2003 (edited) Well, the last few bashos we did pretty well-a vast number of MKs etc.. I don't think there were that many give-away bouts. It's a question of upsets... Look at tomorrow's match-up- Asa -Azuma- a totally even match-up with same head to heads and same record-, and still, over 75% for Asa. You won't get these numbers on a Japanese game, I tell you. Now, if Azuma wins, which is totally reasonable and won't be any upset by we've seen from them this basho, it would be a "great" pick. If he loses, we are chumps. And that game you were referring to has a pathetic 20 odd players.. So we got creamed this time. Patience.. It says on the rules it's the same as on hoshitori. Does that mean 34 wins over three basho? That seems really difficult in ISP...

That seems really difficult in ISP... I'll let you in on a secret..I have no idea.. I just wanted the game back in action, and never checked..It seems a bit steep to me too.. I'll confer with Dale and Kofuji and get back to you..

With those results it's impossible to make a banzuke :-) I really hope that Moti and Kofuji have a good idea, what to do with those results :-) The only possibility I see, is to do a similar conversion like in Sekitori-Oracle with relative records (e.g. a 10-5 will be a 8-7, a 9-6 will be a 7-8 and so on...) Naifuzan 1 Posted November 22, 2003 Maybe I should have participated. That way you'd have one more MK to make thing a little bit easier :-)

MK's only help the banzuke-making when they occur, um... "a little higher up in the banzuke", Naifu! :-P Cheers Zenjimoto
