Gusoyama 103 Posted July 15, 2009 1. X I am just wondering if you think Asa will go kyujo before the basho starts, drop out mid basho or that something will happen to Hakuho? :-) Sorry to be nosey but I have to ask! I suspected that he'd drop out during the basho after a poor start. Obviously, that's not happening, but when I put the entry in, he was doing very poorly in keiko. Profomisakari 857 Posted July 25, 2009 (edited) Six long days it was absolutely quite about our game. But today brought the senshuraku torikumi a totally surprising turn. The whole basho we had a leading pair Jejima and Flohru with same points and the tiebreaker for Jejima. Today for tomorrow has Flohru two correct X picks more than Jezz and distanced him by these two point. But there is a new name on the pole position with Ganzohnesushi. He has 3 of the 4 new decided X bouts correct picked, has now the same 14 points as Flohru and the better tiebreaker and so he is the new leader. Here is the players ranking: Rk Player . . . . .Pts .1 Ganzohnesushi. .14 .2 Flohru . . . . .14 .3 Terarno. . . . .12 .4 Jejima . . . . .12 .5 Profomisakari. .11 .6 Shimodahito. . .11 .7 Andrasoyamawaka-11 .8 Susanoo. . . . .11 .9 Mischashimaru. .10 10 Fujisan. . . . .10 11 Asojima. . . . . 9 12 Peeter . . . . . 9 13 Ilovetochinoshin 9 14 Mmikasazuma. . . 9 15 Kofuji . . . . . 8 16 Hidariashiyama . 8 17 Holleshoryu. . . 8 18 Chisaiyama . . . 7 19 Takanorappa. . . 7 20 Wamahada . . . . 7 21 Tamanaogijima. . 7 22 Harry. . . . . . 6 23 Gusoyama . . . . 6 24 Fay. . . . . . . 4 And now comes the surprise: If we have a look at the picks of the Ganzohnesushi, Flohru, Terarno and Jejima for outstanding two bouts: Terarno has only one pick differently to his opponents and lies two point back. But Ganzohnesushi, Jejima and Flohru have for these both bouts equal votes and so we can suggest: We have a winner of the game! It's Ganzohnesushi from Germany Congartulations, Alexander! Flohru 176 Posted July 26, 2009 Is five bouts a record for bouts not occuring?? They certainly seemed like reasonable match ups but in the end the difference in records prevented them from happening ... Well, I guess in the "modern era" of 21 it is a record, but back then when Takamueda was still selecting the bouts it was quite common to have 5+ x-matches... One suggestion (which has nothing to do with my own situation this basho): I would support the creation of any other tie-breaker rule rather than the "earlier-entry thing"...
