They certainly seemed like reasonable match ups but in the end the difference in records prevented them from happening ... I tried something different this time. First of all, I disregarded the Ozeki-Ozeki matches. Second, I stretched the lower end of the joi-jin box a bit. The second move led to 4 of the X's, but none of those picks were that far out of the box. The lack of joijin kyujos and maegashira contenders kept the box pretty tight. The first move was a boon to Jejima. To me, the presence of only 2 B's was even more amazing than the 5 X's. It all made for an interesting 15 days!
