You said it. Never had a crash with Firefox till this version. Now it's like once a day. Seriously considering switching back to IE.

I'm using the final version out yesterday. I have been a heavy user and am a beta tester for them as well- have not had a single crash since installing it. My only beef at the moment is that some of my favorite add-ons no longer work with 3.5. Hopefully, their owners will wake up soon and update them.

Other than the speed which is awesome, there are some other cool features with this upgrade.

Yes, the final version is MUCH more stable than the earlier betas.

0 add-ons. Plenty of RAM, lot of CPU power. Firefox is happy to eat big piece of them. (Any firefiox). And worst of all I can't connect to my bank "virtual office" with 3.5 due to some javascript issue.

If you have 0 add-ons, you won't feel much of a difference. I have 24, all of them indispensable to me.. Yes, Firefox is a gas-guzzler, but I left IE years ago (went to Netscape, then Firefox) and never looked back. I did check out IE 8, and it sucks (except the parts they unashamedly ripped off Firefox, Opera and Safari..) like all that came before. It's a question of taste I guess.

I had daily crashes with Firefox 3 with a few ad-ons, and I still have a few crashes once in a while with Firefox 3.5 beta and only one ad-on. Never had a crash with Firefox before. I'm so disappointed. Don't know what to do....(far from a specialist)

All the good stuff that firefox has was copied from Opera, they had it first - they are innovators and all the excellent stuff is standard on Opera - not ad ons.

Firefox is pretty good - I sometimes use it, but Opera is tight. Customized to your preferences its a thoroughly enjoyable browsing experience. straight out the box is it may seem odd, but once tweaked it's gold.

Its also consistently regarded as the safest browser, heck even hackers being honest say you should use it.

I was reluctant to upgrade after reading the mixed reports here, but yesterday I switched from 3.0.x to 3.5.2, and I already regret it.

I could be the only one, but I can't see or feel any speed difference between 3.0 and 3.5 on my desktop. (Both installed at the same time)

Unfortunately, I do feel a speed difference, and all for the worse! Version 3.5 is generally more sluggish, freezes occasionally, and the images take much longer to load. Same behaviour on both my home and office machine, which are markedly different in OS and hardware. There are only two very basic Addons installed (Addblock and Tab Mix).

I upgraded by accident... wasn't thinking about saying "yes" to the upgrade at the time.

I hate it! It is slower & freezes up way too often!! (In a state of confusion...) (Doing a wave...)

I've experienced considerable sluggishness as well.

Managed to speed things up a bit through judicious use of Adblock+ and by limiting the number of tabs I have open to no more than a few at a time. Still slower than I'd like.

I downloaded chrome a few days ago just for browsing certain sites I like to go to that firefox takes forever to download. But chrome isn't ideal for me because it lacks an easy adblock program. *shrugs*

2nd vote for opera. Prefer it to firefox. It's quick, no bells-&-whistles if none wanted... And FF 3.5 is a little slower than it once was.

and IE still has some redeeming features... I just forget exactly what they are...

Just down-loaded Chrome - and so far, so good. Tried (and failed) to find some add-ons, but I did find a lot of add-ons for gmail that I never knew previously existed. :-)

Chrome is nice, but I need me ADD-ONS!! Gmail has some awesome tricks indeed-been using them for a while-the best one is undo send. Isn't that pure genius??

Let's give a big hurray for another piece of hard to use crap from the open source world. (Bye, bye...) (Clapping wildly...) (Yusho winner...) (I am not worthy...)

Don't get me wrong I like open source stuff, cause I like free and I like to be able to look @ d4 s0rce w/o being considered a misfit by the industry, but these fellow nerds of mine need to quit making ultra hard to use utilities and apps and wipe their 31337ist smirks off their faces and get serious about programming. I'm just past newb in C# and Java and I already feel like slapping people for silly design choices.

Oh that feels good to get off my chest. Sluggish and crashing browsers make me want to fart on them.
