Yes... I have been meaning to put together a "master message" for ichimon members in all things web site. So, now that we are in business and the post-basho lull is just around the corner, here we go:

As most of you I think have seen, our ichimon homepage is at http://www.sumoforumichimon.net - it is very basic and rudimentary, but for the time being it will have to do. BUT! Let's work on making it at least reasonably good. For this, I need your help! :-)

The various sections go like this:

Press Room:

For this, it would be nice to have "official announcements" or "press releases" or even "interviews" with the members... ANYBODY who would like to make a contribution here (for example, write a short interview about your cyber-identity) please just send it to me, and I'll put it up. Also, perhaps we should have one or two people writing any press releases that would be appropriate. I would do it, but I think I'd rather delegate it :-P So, who ever would like to take this job, please speak up :-)

Legendary Team:

OK... I have pictures for most of you already, which is great. I want to keep the paper bags to a minimum :-D I know that some of you are painfully shy, but if at all possible, PLEASE send me your mug shot (preferreably one that is frontal or slightly front-side, as are the ones on the page now) so I can add you properly. Try not to make the images TOO small, for quality reasons. Some of the ones already done look poor, cause the source pic is too small and had to be enlarged, which isn't a good thing in digital terms. Also please indicate whether you would like an ichimon avatar, like myself and a few others already have. I'll gladly make one for you all. (Sign of approval) Another thing: I would LIKE to have links from this page to individual pages for each member, showing stats, a "full body" picture with kesho, small bio, etc. This is perhaps the most work, and I'll need help in compiling this info. You should also try picking out a "body" that is to be used for your full-body shot, if you want one. I have archived shots from the NSK site at http://www.anasuya.com/bodies/ - you can go there and browse through, and pick one you would like to use. Try to make it one that has a color kesho mawashi that fits your own kesho design idea. Let me know, or send me your own pic that I might not have archived. More on keshos below. Getting the bio and stat info together is tough... dont know if there should be one master stat keeper, which would perhaps make sense. Bio info can be sent to me... Oh... I have 2 "female" bodies available for Manekineko, if needed (they are from the "Secret Society" photo that we saw on here recently, so they are very decent, although the ladies are, of course, real sumo heavyweights) ;-)

Kesho gallery:

I made a few from specifications off the BS Dohyo-iri. Some look better than others. PLease work with me in making more by either sending me a sketch, image, etc. or giving detailed instructions. Also, on the ones already made, let me know how close I got to making it the way you wanted it :-)

Trophy vault:

Same stats problem... master stat keeper, where are you? :-P Also, would be nice to have a GOOD picture of the Emperor's Cup and sansho trophies here... who has some good shots of them (preferrably standing alone, not being held, but I;ll take anything right about now...)

Cheerleaders:

This section is pretty much done for now, I hope (Help me...)

Fan Mail/Tegatas:

I made one for me, if you guys wanna do the same, please send me something like a scan of your hand or hand print, and a scan of your "shikona signature", where I dont care if its in kanji or not. I can process images pretty well, so dont worry about what it looks like when you send it to me :-) I actually made a hand print and scanned it... ;-) THe sales thingy actually works, but I'll be damned if anybody buys one (Blushing...) ;-) (Laughing...) Oh, need to make a mail form that allows people to write messages on the page... can anybody HTML that and send to me so I can insert it? I can figure out how to do it, but it would take me 10 times longer than some of you wizzes! :-)

Ichimon anthem:

The melody chosen is Kimigayo, with apologies about the blasphemy. It just fit TOO well, and it's a great melody. The lyrics are on site, and I believe Moti is going to record a nice version with his vocal on it... looking forward to that! :-)

for all the results (archives and board) stuff. I would also design some entry frames

in php where only our members have access making it easy to enter the results.

We could store all the archives there and they would look like the press room board...

This would save administration time in the future and keep the page building dynamically.

I can host them on my server, this would be no problem with the Homepage as Zenji-zeki is using frames...

Just say: Do it, please !

Press Room - I'm pretty "talkative", I guess I could take care of press realeses, and pester our members for an occasional interview. (Help me...)

Results archive - I can send you my complete results, but I have kept only the barest statistics possible (rank, number of wins, prizes won) since the beginning. Perhaps my page at BS Who is Who has more? And what sort of bio did you have in mind?

Kesho - nice job so far! No complaints here.

I already sent the face portrait to Zenjimoto as a private message but I might show both images here as well. Too bad it's been many moons since I Photoshopped with any regularity and especially too bad that the original images are of so low resolution. (Applauding...)

Anyway... I think you'd recognize me from these if I were to walk by you in a street so in that sense they're more or less successful. Since black hair would look a bit too strange on me (I know, I've dyed my hair black once), I modified it a bit as well.

Kesho portrait is originally Kanechika's as his was the only one which was black all around. I think I have the kind of grumpy niramiai face needed to look like hellbent on raising in the banzuke. :-P As you undoubtedly notice the kesho material is not silk but much rougher cloth. This is purposeful as it makes me itch and therefore more determined to get back to Bench Sumo makuuchi where I'll be allowing myself to wear silk again. :-/

Basho by basho win/loss records, points scored, perfect scores, tiebreaker records, etc. Whatever you need...

I've started to build up the tables and will go on with coding.

The pages which will be updated automatically will be:

results archive and trophy vault and the current results.

What about the current results of a basho ?

I think we could post them on the main page

to leave the press room for the interviews ?

Or do we post both things on the same page ?

I would prefer the main page not to overload

the interviews with all the statistic stuff...

Anyway, it will take some time (job, family) and I'll stay in touch for

further implementation with Zenji.

If the main things are implemented, I'll get back to you...
