Fay 1,677 Posted September 20, 2009 Kokonoe Beya in the morning. The dor was closed, never seen this before during basho times. So I used the bell and asked for watching keiko - no problem. Although Chiyotaikai is not performing so well this basho he was in a perfect mood this morning. So I thought a) Kaio called him early this day to tell him this bout is yours, b) he has a grin sense of humour c) he thinks positive all the time d) he made a show for the nice audience Well the audience was me, Kaio won so only b) or c) may be possible. After keiko they told me to come around the corner for an extra show. The said I must see something else in my life than sumo - Chiyotaikai playing baseball. He really had fun (Shaking head...). The kind of views that are deep into the personalities of the men, not usually seen by the average fans and viewers. Notable: The stunning closeup of Homasho and his disfigured left ear. The closeup of Asashoryu's face the moment before unleashing that uwatenage on Harumafuji. Catching Takamisakari in mid-psyche. I've said this before: This collection of pictures going back so many basho, always catching the most intimate, unattainable protraits of all these men at their most focused moments. This whole collection, especially the scenes at the various heyas, are a real treasure. Pics of Day 12 are up now, a bit delayed, cause I had dinner with Izutsu Oyakata and Kakuryu and it became late and I drunk ... At least, it was not bad for Kakuryu today (Showing respect...) But as they always get tickets for me and Takakiho and Takanoiwa are there, I always feel I have to go once a year. Not to forget the Oyakata himself ... he touched my elbow and said in GERMAN!!! Thank you for coming (Clapping wildly...) .
