Kintamayama 44,741 Posted September 24, 2009 Yoshikaze, KK and looking forward to his wedding ceremony in October: "I was really conscious of it. After I announced my marriage last December, I couldn't get a single KK.." Futenou, lowest ranked west rikishi and now MK, looking like a certain demotee to Juryo for the first time after 4 years in Makuuchi: "It's because I have been doing less keiko than in the past. I will start from scratch. 6 straight makekoshi is really regrettable". Tochiouzan, rebounding from his terrible 2 win basho last basho: "After losing on day 1, I was afraid the losses would pile up. But the next day I concentrated on my keiko and forgot about the loss". Tochinonada, the veteran 35 year old, losing his 10th and resigning to the fact he will be in Juryo next basho: "My power has definitely fallen, so I've got to find something that will compensate for it. I will continue concentrating on one bout at a time!" Kotoshougiku, beating Kakuryuu who beat Kisenosato easily yesterday: "Last night I went to Kisenosato's favorite restaurant and was asked to 'definitely win this one' " Tokitenkuu, beating Kotooushuu for his 7th win: " I did my best not to let him get my mawashi and that worked well. Today's win was big!!" Harumafuji, overwhelmed by Hakuhou: "I failed at the tachi-ai. I was thinking of going with nodowa (throat thrusts) but my hand slipped.." KaioU, getting his favorite hidari yotsu (left under-arm grip), but losing to Asashouryuu anyway: "I couldn't get the right over arm grip on his mawashi. If I would have got it, it would have been a different sumo story.." Asashouryuu, on the bout: "If he would have gotten that right over arm grip, I would have been ousted soon enough.. I didn't know what he was planning, so I was really concentrating. My body is reacting well. I'll just take it one day at a time and try not to lose my concentration". Baruto, beating all 5 Ozeki, and becoming the second rikishi to ever do that, after current Hakkaku Oyakata did it in Haru 1986 as a sekiwake: "I'm really happy, but a win is a win.." He beat the 5 Ozeki in different ways. "I'm thinking all kinds of thoughts about my sumo which probably has my opponents thinking what I'll be coming up with next..". Hakuhou, using his left elbow for the first time since losing on day 6 and executing his favorite uwatenage for the first time this basho: "I got the right under arm grip well. It's been a while since I used that.." Asked about his shape: "Everything is as usual".

Toukeigakusha 0 Posted September 26, 2009 I think Peterao means: "Does the query include wins over Yokozunae"? (The problem being that "all 5" would then be impossible to achieve these days, with 5+2=7 "ozeki+" sekitori.)
