Jonosuke 28 Posted September 30, 2009 So Gagamaru becomes the third sekitori from Georgia. Tochinoshin has made a pretty impressive progress so far and I have no doubt that Gagamaru will do the same. Anyway I hope they change his shikona as somehow Yokozuna Gagamaru doesn't sound too kosher.

Kintamayama 45,111 Posted September 30, 2009 (edited) "I couldn't sleep last night because I was so nervous. When I heard of my promotion I was really happy. If I wouldn't have been promoted, I promised myself to gambarize next basho!", declared a happy Gagamaru. He lost his father in a traffic accident three years ago almost to the day. "I'm sure he's happy for me up there", he said, gazing into the distance. Edited September 30, 2009 by Kintamayama

shumitto 418 Posted September 30, 2009 And Kotoyutaka is the only other Juryo-promoted rikishi. Sokokurai and Miyamoto will have to wait at least till next year to debut should they be promoted in Kyushu.
Takamizawa 0 Posted September 30, 2009 I haven't seen too much from Gagamaru. Are we in for more of the old Doge 'n' Pull? Not judging by what I've seen of him or what the database says about his kimarite. Hopefully he sticks around as a sekitori.
kawika 123 Posted October 28, 2009 I haven't seen too much from Gagamaru. Are we in for more of the old Doge 'n' Pull? He made an appearance by my boy's ex-school, along with all of Kise Beya...
