A man, a fox, a goose and a cabbage

Recommended Posts

I guess you all heard of the old riddle:

A man, a fox, a goose and a baccage are on one side of the river, and need to be ferried to the other side. Only the man can use the boat, and he can take only one other being/thing with him. If left alone, fox will eat the goose, and goose will eat the cabbage...

Well, here's the more advanced version of the riddle:

Temporaily on my web-space, Flash needed...

Rules, for those of you who cannot read Chinese, are as follows:

1. everyone must cross

2. only two persons at a time can board the raft

3. the father mustn't be left with any of the daughters without the mother present, or he will hit her.

4. the mother mustn't be left with any of the sons without the father present, or she will hit him.

5. the thief (in stripes) musn't be left with anyone without the policeman present, because he will hit anyone.

6. only the mother, the father, and the policeman can sail the raft7

7. the thief will not escape if left alone.

To move a peron on the raft, click on it. To move the raft, klick on the red sphere on the opposite side of the river.

Enjoy puzzling!

I think this family is in serious need of therapy.

Agreed. (Applauding...)
