All AA members get 2 birthdays just like the Queen.

Is the Queen's second birthday the day of her coronation?

Hi!

Well, it's not very scientific, but if you count Spring as March, April and May, Summer as June, July and August, Autumn as Sept, Oct and Nov, and Winter as Dec, Jan and Feb (apologies to Southern Hemisphere fans), then the accumulated total would suggest that there are slightly more Spring born sumo fans (or that there are slightly more sumo fans born in Spring who respond to sumo polls with 'Spring' in the title!) (Applauding...)

Jejima

BTW, The Queen's official birthday (and I believe all UK monarchs) is in June (I think - Aussies and Kiwis would know better, as I think it is a public holiday for them), and it is when she gets to 'troop the colour' ;-)

I didn't understand an iota of this (Applauding...), but I found a helpful link:

Anyways, I'm in September like Naifuzan-zeki. Alleged links to a fun New Year's Eve party... (Sigh...) (Applauding...) ;-)

I thought it was the Christmas, err, cheer, that is usually cited as the cause. (Applauding...) (September for me, too.)

there was an unusally large number of Sumo Fans born in Springtime (Northern Hemisphere).

Pretty much dispatched of the theory now, didn't we? My untrained statistical eye sees no particular anomalies in the Spring regions... (Weeping...)

Well, it was a silly between basho poll :-D

I still count 'Spring' as one in front of the next nearest challenger, but I agree no statistical significance..... ....except (as Jejima stirs up some more statistical nonsense) there seems to be significantly LESS Winter sumo fans than the other 3 seasons!

(Laughing...)

(In a state of confusion...)

Hmmm, OK... here's one:

Fans born on Basho months (1/3/5/7/9/11): 35

Fans born on non-Basho months: 22

Now, surely THAT must be more than a coincidence, no? (Sigh...) (Sigh...)

Cheers

I think this points directly to the popularity of sumo.

As more were born in odd (i.e. basho) months, and given it takes 9 mo. for a typical baby to appear, more children were conceived in the non-basho months. Their parents, obviously, were concentrating on other things than (Heart) (In a state of confusion...) during the basho months. They must have been watching sumo. :-)

I would never have believed that from my parents! (Sigh...) (In a state of confusion...) :-) (Sigh...)

(Oh yes, an explanation. I was supposed to be born in July, not June.)

(In a state of confusion...) That sounds like a plausible explanation why I was supposed to be born in December. My parents hate sumo (Sign of disapproval)

I was born on april 17. Not exactly sure what that means... :-)

It means you are exactly 12 years younger than Kaiho. B-)

Welcome to the forum btw! (Laughing...)

Well, in Sweden there are absolutely most babies born in March and April. Strange fact, until you learn that A) the law states that everyone has the right to four weeks vacation in June, July or August. B) The industrial vacation is in July C)August is the warmest month in the year. D)Mid summers eve...

C)August is the warmest month in the year.

In other words, it's too hot in August to make babies - that's why they are born in March/April and not in May. (Clapping wildly...)
