Manekineko 200 Posted January 28, 2003 Wow, the Kinkaiyama pictures are great quality -- looks professional. Sumo yearbook pictures usually are very professionaly taken, they can make any rikishi look good. In fact, the pre-made avatars in ths forum are made from yearbook pictures. :D And thanks a million for these great pictures, Hoshifransu! (Heart)
QttP 0 Posted January 28, 2003 Sumo yearbook pictures usually are very professionaly taken, they can make any rikishi look good. Even Kotomitsuki? :-D Oh, and Manekineko - forgive me for asking again - but do you still have that pic of the three russians (Roho, Hakurozan and Amur)? I mailed you about that earlier but received no reply...
Hoshifransu 0 Posted January 28, 2003 Thanks a billion for your great pictures, Manekineko-zeki ! BTW, did ya watch that new web site dedicated to Akenono ? Manekineko 200 Posted January 28, 2003 Oh, and Manekineko - forgive me for asking again - but do you still have that pic of the three russians (Roho, Hakurozan and Amur)? I mailed you about that earlier but received no reply... Apologies! I changed my e-mail on forum to the backup address once when I had troubles with my regular mail, and forgot to change it back... I do check that back-up account, but not very regularly... (Blush...) Anyway, the russians: (I presume this is the picture you meant) Edit: Hakurozan, Roho, Amuru, left to right. Even Kotomitsuki? (Laughing...) Well... The beauty is in the eye of beholder. ;)
Onnagumo 4 Posted January 28, 2003 Thank you very much for these beautiful pics, Manekineko-zeki! What a great smile Kinkaiyama has.... almost as good as my avatar!
Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted January 29, 2003 Anyway, the russians: (I presume this is the picture you meant) They look so small in weight (Laughing...) I know they are much bigger and stronger than me, and small man sumo is sometimes great to watch, but these guys look very small.
Manekineko 200 Posted January 29, 2003 BTW, do they have new pictures taken every year? From the two yearbook scans I have, yes. :p

Kaikitsune Makoto 209 Posted January 29, 2003 They look so small in weight I know they are much bigger and stronger than me, and small man sumo is sometimes great to watch, but these guys look very small. Amuru is small yes but I have to disagree that Roho would be small. He is actually quite big without too much excessive fat and yet 140kg+ now. He is also very strong as is jonokuchi winner Kotooshu who has lot of muscles all over his body. Very athletic. Roho's sumo isn't small man's sumo either... Manekineko 200 Posted January 30, 2003 Could you post some more? Pleeeeeaaaaaaase?
Onnagumo 4 Posted January 30, 2003 Please elaborate: more Kinkaiyama, more Sadogatake, more in general? I don't really dislike any of the rikishi, so I'm happy with every picture, but I'm especially interested in the Sadogatake guys. I'd love to see some more pictures of them. I've got some pictures of Kotonowaka, but I guess the people on this forum will know most of them already.
Heitaikai 0 Posted January 30, 2003 Thank you very much for all of these wonderful pictures!!! (Thumbs up...) To finish, the special Tosanoumi ones : As I am a fan of Tosanoumi, pictures of him are always welcome. But I cannot see them, what a pity! Am I the only one who can't? Hoshifransu 0 Posted January 30, 2003 Well, I don't know why, maybe because of the provider. So, no problem, copy each url on your browser : (do right mouse click, then "copy shortcut" and paste it into your Address bar) http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Palace/9751/chantosa.jpg http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Palace/9751/besttosa.JPG http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Palace/9751/tosakid.jpg and the Tosa fan you are will be happy with these amazing ones ! Heitaikai 0 Posted January 30, 2003 Thank you very much, Hoshifransu-zeki! Now I can see them all. And the Tosa fan is happy indeed!!
Hoshifransu 0 Posted January 30, 2003 Hey, watch this : The Superconductivity Research Laboratory have succeeded in levitating a Sumo professional wrestler "Tosanoumi" using a repulsive force between superconductors and permanent magnets. The repulsive force of the superconductors are three times larger than conventional ones. The disk on which Tosanoumi stands could easily be rotated because of no friction. We confirmed that an object which weights 300kg could be levitated in the present system. This achivement demonstrates that we can levitate a heavy object at a relatively large gap, which will promote bulk type applications such as a load transport system and a magnetic bearing. Taken from this site. I hope U enjoy ! And enjoy this too : And here Tosa's offcial web site you certainly already knew ! (Brushing teeth...)
Guest Kyukenzan Posted January 30, 2003 Flying sumo wrestlers? What will come next? :-
Manekineko 200 Posted January 31, 2003 All Toki's pictures I have are posted already, and Towanoyama wasn't in makuuchi, so no pics of him in the yearbook. But there are Kotos galore, for all three of us Sadogatake fans... Mickey: Kotonishiki - my all time favourite rikishi, and the prime reason why I became Sadogatake fan. Plus, my boss looks like him. :D My current favourite Koto: Kotoryu: And finaly, two Kotos for the price of one: All pictures scanned and sent to me by Hahanoyama-zeki (eternal gratitude on my part). Be warned: if my web-space gets cramped, these pictures (and Toki and Kinki) will be first to go, so save them somewhere...
Onnagumo 4 Posted January 31, 2003 Be warned: if my web-space gets cramped, these pictures (and Toki and Kinki) will be first to go, so save them somewhere... You bet I did!!!! Thank you sooooo very much for these pictures, Manekineko-zeki! They are even better than I hoped they would be, especially the first Kotonowaka-picture
