Kotoseiya Yuichi 3 Posted June 21, 2010 Only five wins to the second championship. Tomorrow... hmm... 4-0? More if needed. You of little faith.
Kotoseiya Yuichi 3 Posted June 22, 2010 When the team I've been publicly supporting since about 1978, leaves the tournament, they do it utterly without style and time and again strengthen my reputation as a guy who almost always manages to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I much prefer total disgrace over a narrow inability to qualify among the top 16. (Showing respect...) Hey! Only two years to next European championships and France's next big win! I promise to sing praises to Les Bleus again! From now on in this tournament I'm behind Kratzenia and Z

shumitto 418 Posted July 6, 2010 With Germany the only team saving this tournament from being a total disaster in terms of the football played - not speaking of fighting spirit here, only skills - I hope that albeit their excessive and inappropriate politicization of the sport they win it. Sashohitowa 6 Posted July 12, 2010 The worst WC ever with the worst Champion ever... 8 goals in 7 matches. Never in history has a WC winner played so poorly. I think that if you measure the quality of a match with the numbers of goals scored, then football is not the right game for you. Something like handball should fit better. (Applauding...) For me personally that WC was a pleasant surprise. With many teams showing pleasant to watch performance and passion -- especially (IMHO) Paraguay and Mexico. Leonishiki 49 Posted July 12, 2010 The worst WC ever with the worst Champion ever... 8 goals in 7 matches. Never in history has a WC winner played so poorly. Disagree completely. It has been a great WC and the best team won the championship. Spain was probably the team who most tried to play good football and they got a very well deserved WC. I think only Germany played in a similar level. Other "big names" collapsed and now Spain (and the spaniards) are the proud champions. (Sign of approval...) (Clapping wildly...) (Yusho winner...) sekihiryu 51 Posted July 12, 2010 Disagree completely. It has been a great WC and the best team won the championship ...that would be the only undefeated team in the tournament......New Zealand! did they win it??
Sakana 46 Posted July 12, 2010 This WC was at a same level than WC'2002 : some surprises in quarter-finals, a boring final with the winner it deserves. The worst WC was 1994. Spain was stronger in 2008. And played a better football. Gratz' to them, at least. About our national team :

shumitto 418 Posted July 12, 2010 vuvuzelas, jubilani balls, many low scoring disappointing games, poor officiating, poor pitches + a boring final with the winner it deserves. =lowest scoring Champions ever whose players (along with the other mediocre teams) showed no command of most football fundamentals (passing, shooting, ball control...) Spain alone shot over 130 times to net only 8. It is the only possible outcome when teams field 11 athletes maybe 1 or 2 of who are actual players. The good thing though is that if such a team can win it, everyone can. It is broken barrier... down with tradition is what this title means. Now even a team like Bosnia (the football of which I like) will enter a WC vying for the title.
Doitsuyama 1,185 Posted July 12, 2010 =lowest scoring Champions ever whose players (along with the other mediocre teams) showed no command of most football fundamentals (passing, shooting, ball control...) Hmm, you are quickly losing any credibility here. If I didn't know better I'd say you are outright trolling, so wrong is that statement. I saw Zico and many others better than him playing live, and I can assure you the best player of Spain or any other team of today isn't fit to clean his boots. But I also consent it is hard to discuss football with today's cohort. They see Kaka and think he is a talent. Oh my...
Randomitsuki 2,826 Posted July 12, 2010 Now even a team like Bosnia (the football of which I like) will enter a WC vying for the title. According to this logic it must be an accident that Bosnia lost both qualifiers against Spain (who had 10 wins in as many qualifying matches). By the way, you don't get those percentages of ball possession (63% vs. Switzerland, 57% vs. Chile, 59% vs. Honduras, 61% vs. Portugal, 59% vs. Paraguay, 51% vs. Germany, 56% vs. Netherlands), if you don't have a command of game fundamentals like passing. But maybe Doitsuyama is right, and you were just trolling...
Asashosakari 19,306 Posted July 12, 2010 (edited) I saw Zico and many others better than him playing live, and I can assure you the best player of Spain or any other team of today isn't fit to clean his boots. Do I infer correctly that you believe the current emphasis on team-based play (at the international top level anyway) over simply surrounding a couple of excellent individualists with a supporting cast is because there's a worldwide shortage of players who could actually be excellent individualists, not because team-based strategies have shown themselves to be superior? But maybe Doitsuyama is right, and you were just trolling... I am not saying that Spain is particularly poor. I am saying that the standard of current day football is low. None of the teams Spain defeated is a big deal. I am used to another kind of spectacle that no longer lives... but Spain don't have to be good in comparison to 1970 Brazil (and it is certainly not) but to today's rivals. And in this case it is good. My point is historically this team is low quality. And regarding my support to Bosnia, it has to do with its being one of the few national squads the players of which ( something common in the Balkans) still know what playing for their country means. Specially since most them live abroad yet having strong ties to their country. And if the WC is a tournament strongly associated with tradition, Spain kind of breaks it - yes, it has a strong league and all - but before this tournament even Belgium had done better in a World cup. Jakusotsu 5,960 Posted July 12, 2010 @shumitto If you're saying, the level of competition in this World Cup wasn't exactly stellar, then you're right. If you're saying, the Spanish team should have scored more goals, then you're right again, because they do have the skills to do so. But if you wanted to say anything else, sorry, I didn't get your point...
