I gave Tamisakari his first vote. He's been my fave eversince I saw him throw salt all over the place - in a very emotional and passionate way to psyche himself up. He never fails to put a smile on my wife's face. The many corporate sponsors also attest to his popularity - a consistent crowd pleaser, hence my favorite.

;-)

My favorite is Takanohana!

When I discovered sumo, he was winning all the time, and that's why I love his style, terribly efficient, and his face, really, really, really (In love...) (In love...) (In love...) (In love...) (In love...) (In love...) (In love...) ... And what about his little, nice eyes! (Black cat...) (Bouncing group)

Actually, I know he is my favorite rikishi since he withdrew, because I was totally :-P

I like Asashoryu too, but he isn't my favorite yet. Perhaps in 10 years!

Chiyonofuji.

In every single movie that I saw him fighting, he looked to me like a *very* strong, *very* quick, and *very* talented rikishi.

One of my favorite movies is the one on which he loses to young Takahanada (in the same basho he announced his retirement) - even though, at that time he believed he was "not ok" anymore, that was one of the best bouts I've seen. :-P

I wonder if rumours of yaocho has influenced any from not voting for Chiyonofuji. Along the lines of Sekihiryu's question regarding Toki, have any members been dissuaded from voting for Chiyonofuji because of the match-rigging insinuations that have been made?

Your original Waka III post was clearly aimed at telling us that another existed before most / all of us were born and the numbers were therefore wrong.
