Chaingang game invite-Rule change included!

Recommended Posts

Hi Gamers!! (deepest apologies again to non-gamers..)

This one is the CHAIN GANG.

What is the "Chain Gang"? It's a Sumo-related game, based on a day by

day entry. This means you have to follow the ongoing tournament.

The good news is that all you have to do is guess one (1) winner of your

choice from all the bouts on a given day, Juryo and Makuuchi. Only one,

any one. You got it right? You advance to day 2 and pick again. It could

be the same rikishi, or anyone else. You got it wrong? Well, that was

the shortest game you ever played, because yer OUT!! No three strikes,

no yellow card, no "one more chance".. It's the end of the road.

Last human being standing wins. This means the game could theoretically

end on day 6. So what?

IMPORTANT!!IMPORTANT!! YOU HAVE TO REGISTER TO PLAY, even if you've

played before!!

((((((RULE CHANGE!!!))))))You will be pleasantly surprised to note that YOU CAN NO LONGER PICK ANY OZEKI OR YOKOZUNA, unless they are facing each other.

You will need to pick TWO default guys before the basho

starts for the days you don't/can't play, who cannot be changed.

There is a 5-TIME USE LIMIT PER BASHO for using a default, and you can

use him for three straight days only, though we don't think you'll get

very far using a default in this particular game. The reason for two

defaults is this:

KYUJO - When your default pick goes Kyujo, your second default pick

kicks in..

IMPORTANT!! You cannot win OR lose by fusen. If your picked rikishi is

involved in a fusen match, the default kicks in automatically. This is

so no player will have any advantage/disadvantage due to time zone

differences, as we have happening in other games. In the highly unlikely

event that your default is also involved in the fusen match, you're

toast..The best thing to do is keep an eye out for possible kyujos, and

stay away from that rikishi!!

IMPORTANT!!IMPORTANT!! YOU HAVE TO REGISTER TO PLAY, even if you've

played before!! (take two)

IMPORTANT!! When your default kicks in for a kyujo rikishi, he doesn't

count as one of the 5-per-basho you are allowed.

The tie-breaker- the player who used the lowest ranked rikishi on

average wins.

There will be no mail sent out during the Basho - you'll

have to visit us to see who's still standing.

Good luck!!

Thanks!!

Kintamayama and Kofuji

IMPORTANT!!IMPORTANT!! YOU HAVE TO REGISTER TO PLAY, even if you've

played before!!(take three)

;-) Yes, I am! This will definitely revitalize ChainGang.

By the way, do I need to register to play, even if I have played before? I don't think I saw that mentioned. (Shaking head...)

Hmm, the rule change is interesting. I think I like it in spirit, but in practice we'll have to see. Why five times and not three or seven?

Umm, the 5-day use limit for defaults hasn't changed...

even though i haven't played this game last basho i might try it this time......

this new rule is intriguing ......

the game looks tougher now but more interesting....

i play 4 daily sumo games currently and my time is limited but this one doesn't sound very time-consuming....... (Applauding...)

we'll see

For me, it's never very time consuming. Heck, after Day 4, I usually don't even have to play it any more! (Applauding...)

I did just now and occurred no problems. Maybe you entered a wrong password?

The problem was choosing "Register" (Shaking head...)

With "Entry" it went smooth.

Is it still allowed to pick the enemies of Yokozunas/Ozekis or are these bouts no longer included?

NO,NO,NO and thrice no! :-D

You cant take the Yokozuna and Ozeki out altogether, thats ridiculous-Stick to the once per basho rule-Fine,but its not a sumo game without the top rikishi is it? (Sign of disapproval)

This is a bulldozer to knockdown a dollshouse with a faulty door. :-P

When a game loses its point due to circumstances, the rules need to be changed. It's not knocking the door down with a bulldozer. It's making the game reasonably playable , as it was before Asashouryyu's current streak. If circumstances change, we change with them.

Sorry, but that's the way it is.. I think the one yokozuma rule and henka rule in BS sucks too, but on we go-can't please everyone all of the time..

Personally I would have much preferred the "can't pick the same rikishi two days in a row" rule, cause it prevents people from riding one particular one till the end, but keeps the top guys in the game, which I think is somewhat important to the "not-so-versed" players who like Chaingang for its simplicity. Sure, even with that rule you could theoretically ride Asashoryu/Chiyotaikai to the very end, but quite frankly I doubt we'll be seeing a whole lot more of 13-0/13-0 performances... But let's see how this works out... it might be over on Day 6! :-D

Automation gets out of hand here. The original idea was to be able to pick each guy only once during a basho, like S4, but we thought that would be too difficult.. Now, the game has become too easy, so we make it a bit harder..

Apologies to those who disagree. Someone has to decide, and regretfully, that someone is me.

Asashouryuu may now lose on day 1, of course, so that's that..

No, it would really be much worse. But it's up to everyone if they want to play or not, and even to have opinions (to a certain degree) about whether they like a rule or not. That's how it works. :-O

Is there any way to Beta test this idea, to see if it really would be too difficult? I think it might be the best way for this great game.

:-P

(Censored) (Censored) (Censored) (Censored) (Censored)

Things must be desperate when Im picking "Gojoro" on day 1 instead of Asashoryu, mind you he has won all 11 of his previous bouts against day 1 opponent Wakanoyama-

Knowing my luck that streak will end tomorrow.

:-P

Hey Jezz, how do I go about changing my email address for the bench sumo mailing list?
