So, how will the top of the banzuke look in about a year from now?

Please leave your actual prediction for the top two ranks for the January 2013 in the comments below - then we can see who is closest at the end of the year, to award a yusho for this poll (Clapping wildly...)

Previous polls:

2011

2010

2009

2008

Why you should or why I am asking?

I am asking, because here you predict Baruto to be Yokozuna, but in the other poll you give five yusho to Hakuho and one to Kisenosato, i.e. not much room for Bart's promotion.

Sorry for obsessing...

If you read my other posts, you will see that I believe the two yusho criteria is no longer in place. Two back to back junyusho with a high score will do it. He will be the next "no-yusho" Yokozuna.

I'll stick with my "Bart for Yok" campaign..

2 (Hak, Bart)

4 (Osh, Kise, Geeku, HMF)

I don't think it'll happen, but IF Kisenosato gains the tsuna in 2012 (or ever), I predict he'll change his shikona to Takanosato II.

Hakuho Y1

Kotoshogiku O1 Baruto

Kisenosato O2 Harumafuji

Kakuryu O3 Toyonoshima

But I might have forgotten to select Toyonoshima in the third section.

Another poll to be closed.

So, most of us think that there will be just one Yokozuna on the Jan 2013 banzuke (I presume, Hakuho).

Half of us think that there will be 5 Ozekis on that banzuke.

The current crop of Ozekis seem mostly predicted to stay where they are - with Kotooshu the most likely to vacate his slot.

Just over a third of us think that Kakuryu can make the grade upwards. Toyonoshima is the only other rikishi to be mentioned.

Hi all,

The top of the January 2013 banzuke should look like this:-

Hakuho Y Harumafuji

Kisenosato O1 Kakuryu

Kotooshu O2 Kotoshogiku

(S Baruto*)

So there will be 2 Yokozunas (guessed by 3 people) and 4 Ozekis (guessed by four).

The Ozekis....

Kisenosato (14 out of 14 votes)

Kakuryu (5/14)

Kotooshu (10/14)

Kotoshogiku (13/14)

Meanwhile we all got Harumafuji wrong (14/14) - but two people were correct that Baruto would vacate the rank - but I suspect they were actually more wrong - as they were predicting a promotion, rather than a demotion.

Difficult to awrd the yusho for this poll, but I am giving it to Oshirokita, as he seems to be closest to the actual. He also correctly predicted the promotion of Kakuryu, and that Baruto would be the lowest ranked...

*I'm guessing either S1W or S2E...
