Today the west makuuchi dohyo-iri had an up on the kesho mawashi - that would be something worth looking at again. I love the dohyo-iri, but in the recorded streams to watch on sumoreference they are always cut out, a pity.

I didn't realize there was demand for that.

For me the dohyo-iri is also the barometer of the rikishi popularity when listening to the applause - and I just love the parade.

Speaking of Kesho-mawashi, do you guys have any favourites? I really like Toyonoshima's one with the little whale, and Harumafuji's horse with night-sky full of stars is also one of my favourites

I like the scorpion of Baruto - does he want to show he really means it now and has the sting ?

Just saw a small advert for the sumo song with the chicken mascot and oyakata's singing, can't get that song out of my head any time i hear it, very catchy :)

I posted the text in Romaji for the Hakkiyoi! Ozumo promotion song here, for those who want to sing along after the torikumi and can't read the Japanese Karaoke text in the video.

Hi all,

does anybody know how I can stream the video to a iPad?

The starting post is actually answering your question - GoodPlayer is said to drive with the i line.

Considering the bandwidth issues for the last couple of bouts, I can clearly live without an increase in sumo's popularity.

wouldn't mind to have an option of low and hi bandwidth stream as I am in a remote area right now, with pre-DSL - even pre modem speed and about to go crazy as this hi-quality stream leaves me almost completely out of the action >:-(

Well, at least the video links on Sumo Reference are coming fast today. The videos aren't smaller on youtube, but there you can buffer it wait until it is ready to go.
