Kintamayama would it be rude to ask you to include Takanoyama in your highlight vid? You got 10000 Brazilian fans who can only watch sumo through you and Takanoyama is the big star for us

I don't know if i'm getting overly excited but Chiyotairyu seems to have an aura about him, exciting win by Kotooshu too, if those front seats didn't come with life-insurance before they do now hehe, also, although i am a Hakuho fan, his loss today is very good for the tournament itself i am guessing :)

Thank you Kintamayama, i've been looking forward to your compilation, very much so (Clapping wildly...)

Aminishiki looked like he was biting his lip so as not to grin all over his face.

The last time Hakuho lost on day 1 was in 2008. I can't imagine that he's in the best mood right now.

Interesting, I would have expected Kaisei to be more popular in Brazil.

Thanks again for the videos Kitamayama! Steak and beer if we ever meet!

Will Aminishiki be the tachimochi sword bearer tomorrow? After stabbing Hak in the back today?

Today we were watching it with my 4 year old daughter, and she asked me to tell her all the names of the rikishi and also if we have said yesterday that they will win or not (she was helping me with my seki-toto entry). I think that she liked the most Tochiozan (she said he is "cool") and Baruto (the tsuridashi was really impressive).

Kintamayama, because of your coverage, one more fan is joining the sumo community. Thank you for that :)

With all 6 Ozeki looking good, and Hakuho losing right off the bat, this might be the most interesting basho in years.

And IMHO, if this was taking place anywhere but Tokyo, the Nishiki-Hak bout would have been up for grabs. The fact that Nishiki, wobbly leg and all, was able to maintain his footing significantly worked to his advantage.

And, just for fun, let's venture that it's a (very) remote possibility that all 7 Yok/Ozeki could end up, say, 13-2. Or 12-3. What a playoff that would be.

Of course he did end up winning that basho, so if we're going by that trend I wouldn't be in such a bad mood.

Call me cynical, but the match just now between Tokitenku and Aoiyama, when Tokitenku did the first mistart (i've forgotten the japanese word for a false start) it was so early it looked fake, i immediately thought, "he did that to pretend he had no idea of henka in his mind, he will do a henka second time round" and sure enough he tried one.

What do you think, any chance of me being right or should i go get my tin-foil hat and sit in the corner? :D

It didn't fool Aoiyama either.

No doubt, this sort of gameplay wouldn't be unexpected from Tokitenku. You probably are correct.

I screwed up royally today-Internet died on me and I had to improvise something, so some bouts are missing and some feature the return of the lizard men. Sorry.

We shall overcome some day.

Upgraded virgin:

Surprising day today for the Ozeki and Hakuho really had to work hard at the end there, don't worry about the missed video's kinta, the humour made up for it, "i wish everyone a nice day apart from my internet provider" (Laughing...)

Hak does not look stable.

Injury, or is he beginning to doubt himself? Either way this could be one very open basho.

Do the clips have a working seek bar? (If not, did they before?)
