I am half-way through the video and just paused to say how lame all the bouts untill now are...

These guys owe a very big "We are sorry" to Kintamayama, who made all the trouble to record this lousy sumo...

They apologized to me at least three times today..

I laughed at the tachiai comment on Kaisei v Daido. I was thinking about the same thing when the humorous comment popped up.

I probably shouldn't complain about it (same with Yoshikaze's blatantest henka ever) because thanks to them I got a perfect 10 on Sumo Game.

Lousy day. But I wonder which foot of Tochinoshin went out first. Or does he have a third one we can't see ?

And here I thought it was just me being over-tired and apathetic in general as I watched.

The non-matta in the Kaisei - Diado bout, Yoshikaze's disappearing act and the Wakanoho tribute act by Chiyotairyu all cost me possible points today. >:-(

You're looking for the wrong thing, I'd say. His right ankle/calf touched down first, IMO.

Also I do see the Tochinoshin bout the same way as respectable Asashosakari and some judges. :-P

Kotooshu's start may be not the quickest one, but he skillfully took advantage from Aran' badly placed hand. After bout Aran can be seen stretching the hand in background.

Oh, indeed. I didn't even pay attention to some part possibly touching the ground INSIDE the ring. (Thinking in depth...)

But I must say it's because what I read in Kintamayama's video, as there was written "Tochinoshin's foot went out first ..."

I was merely translating the head shinpan's kind words.

Yeah, this wasn't the best day of sumo... mattas and henkas...

Daidou wins the Best Non-Tachi-ai Turned Into A Henka Award. Nevermind that, what was Kaisei thinking?

Yoshikaze wins Best Touchless Henka Award. What the Fish was AsaStevieWonder thinking?

Wakakoyu and Sadanofuji win the Joint Mutual Massage-The-Face Award

Speaking of Fish, What the Flounder was Chiyatairyuu doing? A Wakanono imitation? The Knotless Wonder wins, but I lay the blame on Aoiyama. He should always be on the lookout for someone without a beehive.

Noshine's right ankle did touch down first (but didn't go "out", in spite of what was announced), and the Shinpan actually got one correct, even when they got the facts wrong. Reminds me of the previous White House Administration, when they were wrong, but they were actually right, so they got it right, but were wrong, anyway.

Miyabiyama, Gawd bless his old soul, still floats like a butterfly, and stings like a butterfly.

Tenku wins the Best Head Yank Award. He's still trying to get his hand, wrist and elbow free from Nowaka's hair...

Aran, is still trying to flag down that cab... Seriously, how in Trolleybuses does one get their arm stuck vertically like that? I think it was his arm. I hope it was his arm....I've heard that when certain things are stuck vertically, bad stuff happens... or good. Just sayin'...

Miyogearyou wins the Force Your Opponent Out While He's Preparing To Throw You Award. HF's ring sense abandons him faster than an Italian Cruise Ship Captain.

Homasho wins the Best Imitation of Icarus Award for the rikishi who crashes and burns each and every time he rises higher in the rankings. Homasho also wins the Planet Mercury Award for the best imitation of a Hot/Cold Buffet.

Hakuho wins the Best Bowler Award. Gagamaru wins the Best Imitation and Tribute to Humpty Dumpty Award. (I've never quite figured out if his piece of silk is a mawashi or a necktie.) Neither kicked up a sweat today. My 94-year old mother could have bowled Gaga. For the love of broccoli, what is this guy doing so high up in the rankings?

Yeah, lousy day. Even the lice were lousy.

Tochinoshin's comment made me laugh out loud. Brilliant stuff!

I'd love to know what the head Shinpan was discussing with his special consultant, a.k.a. the shomen-side yobidashi, which made him decide to torinaoshi the mono-ii. They seemed to have an animated discussion.

Wow... I can't remember Hakuho ever getting his arms pinned and thrown like that. Good on Hibiki.

And the last person to lift Baruto off his feet was Asa... This is the kind of sumo from Goeido I've been waiting for. Baruto did everything right, and still lost.

Much better sumo today, and it looks like this may be the end of the yusho/jun-yusho streak for Hakuho. He'll pretty much have to win out for it to continue.

"TAKANOYAMA WINS BY YORIKIRI."

I won't be surprised by anything anymore.

Edit; A few moments afterwards I had to take this back. Tochinowaka henkaing Takayasu, seriously?

Just want to say my wife and I sure do appreciate all the hard work that goes into these digests you're posting Kintamayama. It's great to get the quick rundown after work. Your comments are always informative and frequently funny, too. Thanks so much

Amazing day ! And very curious how this will turn out now.

I'm wearing Cain's mark anyway, so I'm saying it: The Harumafuji-Toyonoshima bout was so thrown, it still hasn't landed. Nice clapping job (One-Two-Three-NOW!) after a totally indifferent and atypical pre-bout prparation by the Ozeki. I don't jugde, I don't blame them, it just needed to be said on a day where we have good reasons to look elsewhere.

Apart from that: GO! Myogiryu!

And thanks, Moti, for your invaluable service.

What's your take on Homasho-Aminishiki?

Aminishiki looks pretty slow in this bout. And he needs about one second to switch from his game to Homasho's game. Sloppy slapfest follows, but that is not a telltale in my book. At one point close to the end, Homasho seems to pull him actually away from the tawara. Is this what you are aiming at?

I don't know. Aminishiki is so often the spoiler when I expect pre-crafted results, I almost consider him to be out of the usual gimme-takeit-loop. I'm undecided.

I doubt that more than one of the current leaders will reach 13 wins, so a 12-3 should still be enough for Hakuho.
