Fay 1,677 Posted June 16, 2012 Some pics from morning training at Kasugano beya. Tochiozan was the outstanding rikishi this morning, nearly unbeatable. Tochinowaka much better than Aoiyama and Tochinoshin hardly managed to win 2 fights. :-O He was very unsatisfied. I had the impression that he still is under some sort of ban. Three Oyakata were there and one more trainer, it was quite noisy the whole time. They encouraged, ranted and gave advices to every single rikishi but they remained nearly completely silent when it wasTochinoshin's turn. http://www.sumo-webp...sugano Beya.htm
botev1921 33 Posted June 17, 2012 Could you give me some details on how Aoiyama is doing? I hear he was having some issues settling in the new group?
Fay 1,677 Posted June 19, 2012 Could you give me some details on how Aoiyama is doing? I hear he was having some issues settling in the new group? Sorry, I saw your question so late. Aoiyama didn't do so good in this keiko session. he had about 20 bouts against Tochiozan/Tochinowaka/Tochinoshin and may have won 7. Most of them against Tochinoshin, and 2 or 3 aganst Tochinowaka. But he got a lot of support from all 3 Oyakata and Tochnonada.
botev1921 33 Posted June 19, 2012 It is good to hear he is getting support, because I've heard several times he took the death of his former oyakata very personal. Hopefully he can build on the previous basho and with the solid Tochiozan and Tochinowaka pulling him forward as well maybe he can improve and win 1-2 bouts against the Ozeki!
