Doitsuyama 1,186 Posted September 23, 2012 In a close finish longtime leader Nomadwolf (leading uninterrupted since day 5) didn't have enough in the tank (read: all KK/MK already decided) to fend off Andoreasu who came through thanks to his substitute Aminishiki who secured his last open KK slot (substituting Baruto for a combined 8-7) along with the 11 regular points. Nomadwolf got at least the consolation of jun-yusho, quite close ahead of Oskanohana and Sukubidubidu. This is the second career hoshitori yusho for Andoreasu who also won Seki-Quadrumvirate for a splendid basho. Yokozuna Mysko retired while kadoban ozeki Anjoboshi fell to sekiwake, and they get good replacements with two strong ozeki promotions for Kitakachiyama (three consecutive 12-3) and Shiyonofuji (40 wins over the last three basho), the second ozeki promotion for the latter, a good 13 years after the first one. See you again in Kyushu.
Kintamayama 45,161 Posted September 23, 2012 I was MK since day 5 after losing three players (one was replaced at 12 with Shohouzan..) so I was playing with 11. I don't know how, but I got my 8-7 KK on the last day, probably due to the special prize points. Thank you sir for runiing this for so many years and making many people very happy. Kitakachiyama 9 Posted September 26, 2012 (edited) (...) and they get good replacements with two strong ozeki promotions for Kitakachiyama (three consecutive 12-3) Incredible! My first ozeki promotion after 10 years of playing! (I've been playing Hoshitori since Nagoya 2002). Edited September 26, 2012 by Kitakachiyama
Ruziklao 34 Posted September 26, 2012 Pity there is no Hoshitori YDC. Some yokozuna were playing the game on the highest level, once upon a time or even recently (let's say in 2011), but now their results are far worse than many ozeki or some maegashira in one case.
