Harumafuji has both feet taped and apparently has some pain. It may have begun on the 27th when he went 9-10 against Kisenosato and Kakuryu.

Kotooshu was fit on the 31st during moushi-ai against Kotoshogiku, first winning 5 straight, finally 9-5.

The kindergarten of the Dazaifu-Tenmangu shrine has its own sumo club, a rarity. They have 20 years connection to the heya. The director is head of its Kyushu koenkai.

Kakuryu did 28 bouts with sekitori at the Tokitsukaze-ichimon rengo-geiko, 13 in a row with Ikioi.

Kisenosato did 26 straight bouts with Takayasu and then suri-ashi and squats with stone weights.

Kakuryu was 24-4 on the 1st against Homasho, Toyonoshima etc. He lost 3 to Ikioi and got a negative comment from Izutsu-oyakata: "What are you doing ? You mustn't lose 3 to someone who just came up to makuuchi."

About 2000 fans watched Harumafuji's dohyo-iri at the Dazaifu-Tenmangu shrine, where the heya has its lodgings.

Tachi-mochi Aminishiki, tsuyu-harai Asahisho. Harumafuji: "When I came from Mongolia 12 years ago, my first keiko was at the Dazaifu-Tenmangu. I have a lot of memories. Thanking destiny and the support from you all, I did the dohyo-iri wholeheartedly."

He wore a new kesho-mawashi doonated by Suzuki motors for the first time, design is Mt. Fuji. The tachi-mochi has the red Fuji, the tsuyu-harai pine and Fuji and the yokozuna sakura and Fuji. The cherry blossoms have 15 gems of crystal glass attached in the center, for 15 wins (zensho).

Both yokozuna did some dohyo-iri on the 3rd. Both in the morning at the Sumiyoshi shrine in the Hakata ward of Fukuoka in front of about 3500 fans, later Harumafuji at the Renge-in Tanjo temple inner part in Tamana, Kumamoto.
