Zingo 0 Posted May 24, 2004 Just read the article linked to by Otokonoyama in the thread about "Poor Takamisakari" ("Honbasho Talk") ....Basically arguing that forreigners have problems integrating in the japanes society in general, which I'm aware of, and discuss around the fate of Akebono in particular. He's supposedly "driven out" from the sumoworld and along irrational paths ending up in a, so far, doubtful career in K1... I don't have any opinion about the truth of the reasoning in his case, but it leads me to the question of the mongolian sumo guys... Are they as much gaijin as the westerners? Is it realistic for them to continue in the sumo world after their acive career? Remember reading somewhere, for example, that 10ho applied for citizenship recently with the outspoken ambition of a future in the business..
